This track came about over a period of time, adding little riffs of piano and finally, Simon creating an electronic 'ground'. It's a bit of a collage. I wondered if it was going to work at all. Now, I like it.

Čovjek s najbogatijim SoundCloudom na čitavom internetu, a mislim da nitko ne može osporiti da u današnje doba imati išta naj na čitavom jebenom internetu donosi ogromnu količinu bodova. : )

Gazda izvrsnih Kimochi Sound & Tesuji labela, mrckinski producent pod aliasom Area, dugogodišnji glazbeni urednik na čikaškom  WNUR-FM 89.3 radiju, opsesivni (ali fakat) kolekcionar ploča, svih zamislivih i nezamislivih žanrova. 

Ovo potonje je jedan od glavnih razloga zašto nikada ne znaš što očekivati od ovog DJ-a, čak i kada misliš da „nisi spreman za ovo“ te preuzme i osvoji u kratkom roku i onda se pitaš što se događa, nešto što je u današnje doba svedostupnosti postalo iznimna rijetkost.

Today's piece of the podcast came to us from overseas, specifically from the city of Ithaca, New York.

otodojo is one of the people whose list of activities on the electronic scene makes up the whole range. Besides the djing, he also specializes in his own production. After several remixes and original EPs, he released his debut album A Sound Place last year on the California label Acid Camp, which reflects the experiences that had shaped him in recent years. According to his own words, it can be taken as a prayer for all who fight for society and environment healing. He balances his highly psychedelic music work with projections that complete the comprehensive audiovisual experience.

However, this list of his activities does not end there. otodojo also acts as a promoter trying to elevate the local scene in Ithaca by throwing a series of Microtones parties. Unfortunately, his home-club Forest City Lodge 180 has faced an imminent risk of closure since the beginning of the pandemic, leading him to the involvement in the crowdfunding platform GoFundMe that supports many cultural events.

It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing to fit the patriarchal neoliberalist mould, we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Regardless of one’s point of reference, we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on.

This month we have invited @kamarujoseph to ruminate on these ideas and create an hour of relief from these anxieties. A temporary suspension of reality, where the listener can speculate on alternate modes of existence that reject hetero-patriarchal systems of oppression.

KMRU is the moniker of Joseph Kamaru, a sound artist, and producer based in Nairobi. He is a regular performer at the fabled Nyegenyege Festival having also presented live performances at CTM festival and Gamma Festival. Aside from his music production, KMRU has also been presenting a monthly show on Internet Public Radio and runs the Nairobi Ableton User Group community as well as developing projects on radio art and artificial intelligence. KMRU recently participated at Mutek Montreal AI Art Lab and Gamma Lab XR (2020) collaborating on artistic based projects on artificial intelligence and extended realities.

Ariel Kalma is inspired by rhythms, melodies and grooves from various cultures, ambient atmospheres, modal music, native instruments and nature. Ariel likes to experiment with music: mix traditional sounds with modern arrangements, use electronica and special effects, play circular breathing on winds and didgeridoo, create original sounds from synthesizers. Ariel blends styles of music to produce original compositions with flavours of his own. His songs touch deep feelings of the search for simple truth in a metaphorical poetry.

During his study of Electronics, Computer Science, Music and Art at Paris University, Ariel Kalma was also performing with several bands and touring the world, visiting Asia, Africa, Japan, Canada and Europe, always listening to, sometimes playing with, the music and the people: different scales, colours of sound, timing and rhythms.
