It’s been an extraordinary first year of Bright Patterns, and what better way to celebrate an anniversary than with a special guest whose music is often featured on the show. Vicki kicks things off in the first hour, followed by an hour of original, unreleased music by Joshua Davison. He’s released on Skam, Digitalis, and several other labels over the last two decades, and also appears on the latest Mysteries of the Deep compilation. It would have been a pleasure to have him compile a DJ set for the show with his incredible taste in music, but an hour of his own productions marks this as a special event. The Curious Dream resident also curates his own Category 4 show on greatcircles.net each month—both of these events explore music's diverse landscape in a way that speaks to him and his collaborators on a very personal level. Bright Patterns is about following your internal compass, which is partially inspired by the musical bond he and I have cultivated over the years. As a dear friend, it doesn't surprise me in the least that our sets compliment each other so seamlessly.
