Three hours of garage, dubstep, grime, hardcore, jungle and techno recorded on a Sunday evening at 121 in Wellington for the Friendly Potential crew. At their request I tried to play with the energy of the old Sunday night sessions at FWD>>, and it was so fun. Old and new music side by side. Spinbacks at 2008 levels. 

Big thanks to everyone involved in this incredible trip to New Zealand and Australia, especially the Friendly Potential crew who made the whole thing possible. It was wonderful to play music again, and I hope to be back soon.

Was going through some of the first sets I recorded in 2006-2008 after a friend sent them to me.  This was when I used to play Drum and Bass under the alias Apt Pupil. This was the sound I was playing in Leeds at parties like Sub Dub/Momentum/ Metropolis/Central Beatz and every week on Frequency FM :) thought it would be nice to share one.

I really wanted it to sound like a summer peak-time mix but also a journey that you could get lost in with headphones, and of course, wanted it to flow as smoothly as possible. His selections often center on rave music, Chicago house, and disco, but his multi-decade career has ranged from jungle to footwork to freestyle. This unique form of story-telling has brought him to venues such as Panorama Bar, Smartbar (where he held a residency from 2015 to 2018), and his residency at San Francisco’s oldest and most storied queer club, The Stud.
