For the 116th entry in the Honcho Podcast Series, we welcome @furtivetrax! Furtive is a full-gonzo rave conjurer and relentless creative tinkerer, intractably committed to the rave as a Philadelphia-based producer, DJ, underground event organizer, and dancer. 

A veritable product of the contemporary American underground, Furtive cut their teeth as a DJ and DIY event organizer in Washington, DC’s warehouses. Furtive now co-runs an intimate, blossoming off-the-books venue in Philly, and holds a radio residency at Philly scene mainstay Great Circles. Enjoy!

I noticed this isn't on soundcloud? so I'm re-upping it. All vinyl, one take, unhinged party. This @mikeservito set was recorded live in May 2010 at No Way Back, the DEMF afterparty thrown by Interdimensional Transmissions at the Bohemian National Home. This is The Bunker's second consecutive podcast from the No Way Back party, released in anticipation of the Brooklyn version of the event on November 5, 2011. This also marks Servito's second podcast for The Bunker, a rare feat. We're pretty sure you'll understand why we picked this set almost immediately upon listening. Proper jacking classic house trax mixed immaculately.

Will Jack (they/them) - fka Novail

Hailing from the Pacific Northwest and now based in Brooklyn, the promoter and resident of Portland’s Switch Dance Party, Will Jack, has been hard at work establishing themself in the queer dance scene. Will Jack has spent the last couple of years behind the scenes of DIY parties as a producer and floor manager all the while promoting nights of their own, studying the craft and honing their skills and philosophy of the rave. As a DJ, Will Jack plays for the time and space delivering multidimensional techno sets as consistently as they do a hot and cruisy house groove. Seen behind the decks in places such as Portland’s Holocene, NY’s Bossa Nova Civic Club, the Chernobyl Warehouse, as well as Brooklyn’s UNTER party and San Francisco’s STANK, Will Jack is a force to keep an eye on with a story to be told.

Being raw and pure is core to my artistic style, so while I strive for quality and perfection, there are moments when I’m imperfect and work to do better. XOXA BLEND 182 - Will Jack

Something about playing that Sunday, after Shyboi, in the room I'm usually doing the lights for, that made me want to just bang it out. Beating the box, my inner truth, my love language. So many drum tracks, so little time... I wanted to mix the old school beat tracks I love with the, often goofy and outrageous, early hardcore from '90-'92 before the genre had distilled into hardcore jungle and DnB. And while I have some misgivings of this live set I think this mix still gives. The reviews I heard were "I was speed skating so much during ur set", "it was giving sexy", and "best yet" : )
