Born and raised in Atlanta, Vicki Powell got her first DJ gig at age 13, spinning records at a local roller skating rink, and hasn’t stopped since. With 30+ years of experience, Powell is revered in underground dance spaces across the world for her incredibly infectious enthusiasm and energy, which is palpable in her addictive sets, her personality behind the decks, and her lifelong efforts to build unforgettable queer party spaces. With Powell’s penchant for driving basslines and an astounding ability to connect with crowds, her audiences are at her command. 

In Atlanta, Powell reigns supreme at some of the city’s most respected nightspots, and is a celebrated underground figure, famous for her monthly dance parties, Sunday Service and DEEP SOUTH (@deepsouthatl). She commands summer crowds at her residency at Mark Louque's F^G B^SH in Provincetown, MA, and as a former NYC resident, is helping to bring post-pandemic New York nightlife back to life with a roar. A founding DJ of Holy Rollers, one of Brooklyn’s hottest new parties for queer women, and resident at Black Flamingo in Brooklyn, NY, Atlanta-based Powell knows no physical limits when it comes to creating incredible moments and community through music.

4AM NYC is a Brooklyn-based / London-born DJ, Producer and Educator. Known as a vinyl assassin like no other, they provide nights of music unbound by genre, dedicated to the dance floor; ruled by a furious and vivid emotional spectrum. Storytelling takes precedence in their practice and the tale will be told by any means necessary - whether it’s via heart-wrenching soul, finger-snapping house, euphoric and demonic techno, or unclassifiable future classics straight out of leftfield - their delivery is always uncompromising and energizing, passionate and sincere. For over a decade they have served dancefloors the world over: New York, London, Pittsburgh, Detroit and beyond - holding down residencies with their own party series Spiritual Mental Physical at beloved NYC night clubs such as Good Room, Le Bain, and Jupiter Disco. Their skills and commitment to the art of djing have seen them play alongside the likes of Waajeed, Ash Lauryn, Eli Escobar, Marshall Jefferson, Danny Krivit, Kai Alce, JADALAREIGN, Moma Ready + more.

Notes on the Mix ///

"This mix was directly inspired by a warehouse party i played recently in Brooklyn with Eli [Escobar] called 'Relativity' hosted by The Electrik Company. (We didn't record, but my track history was saved and i went back into the studio a few days later to recreate the magic once more for XOXA.) I got to play an extended set for a packed house that night and the energy literally was electric! It was awesome to have that back n forth with the crowd throughout. I crept up through some really seductive downtempo Techno and House at the beginning, up to harder and more hypnotic joints that i had a lot of fun layering and fkin around with, and then came in with a Disco curve ball at the end to re-energize the room and reset for Eli comin on after me. I really like to ride blends for a long time and make two records sing together - to the point where you don't know where one ends and the next begins. Making different tracks have conversations with one another is always something i like to explore during my sets no matter where or when i'm playing. I imagine each record as a fully formed being with their own defined personalities - how would they get into it with each other if they were to meet at a party? Would they fall in love? Heatedly argue with each other? Would it be a sparring of intellect over a hot topic? I wish I could see the looks on your faces when you listen to this and hear the resulting chorus of every record i played. Njoy <3"

More about Chuck:

San Francisco transplant by-way of Los Angeles, Chuck Gunn is a co-founder and resident of QAOTIQ, a queer rave based in California's Bay Area that aims to uplift and champion BIPOC/Trans artists. His fresh and spacey take on house and techno is shaped by the acid, dub and microhouse movements that grew out of 90's minimal techno. Chuck moves through various textures, from rugged terrain, spaced out atmospheres, dub rhythms, all balled up in a bounce & grace that smacks the dance floor again and again, relentless you might say. For many this kind of built pressure can take decades in the DJ booth to develop. Gunn's range and skill can hold down any underground dance floor and it's obvious that we're not the only ones that have taken notice as Chuck plays up and down the West Coast at clubs & festivals alike.
