Following on from his beautiful ‘Solidify’ EP on Control Freak Recordings, Awo Ojiji brings his signature genre-fluid style to the 909 podcast series. Deeply atmospheric and focused around their love for leftfield techno and bass music, the mix includes a lot of favourites from the likes of Batu, Luka, Excel, Blawan, Nikki Nair and Delay Grounds to name a few. A punchy percussive session. 

Speaking about the mix, Awo Ojiji says, “I approached this mix similar to how i approach djing in a club. i collected a lot of tunes i feel right now into a playlist with very rough idea in my head and then i pressed record and started playing and see where it leads me. it's a bit uptempo and includes a lot of tunes i play a lot in clubs these days. i'm really happy how it turned out, it's rowdy and intense at moments and soothing at others. it moves through a few waves of up and downs. and thats what i do when djing in general. i hope you enjoy :)”

DJ Eft is a terrestrial amphibian with roots in NJ & Philadelphia. The now Portland based DJ, producer, designer, animator, & "World Healer" has spent time slinking through the mycelial forest duff, sampling the sounds and flavors of the PNW old growth and ocean. Eft is a natural farmer with a strong connection to the cycles of nature and makes contact with the spirits regularly which guide his ethereal selections in ambient, hypnotic techno, dub techno, trance infused tech-house, 4th world, and experimental IDM. 

I first met DJ EFT, also known as Mugwert at Aqua Lucidity, a festival on the sunshine coast last year. I awoke in my tent the Saturday morning after a heavy session to amazing selections I initially thought were coming from the main and only stage. Instantly drawn to the post night early morning DMT energy coming out of his portable mini rig - we became friends. 

I later in the summer travelled down to Canyon Vibrations in Oregon to watch EFT play the downtempo stage where I entered into another realm from his selections. 

Anyway stoked to have the homie on the Inc.ternational series where we're searching far and wide for those off kilter and beautiful moments in music out of the mundane and formulaic.
