Biography


With a decade of experience behind the decks, Diego Anaya J., artistically known as FUTURISTIC DANCER, has forged an unmistakable sound that navigates between the past and the future. His proposal is a fusion of the atmospheres of new wave, cold wave, and post-punk with the vibrant energy of electroclash, italo-disco, and synth-wave. From Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, his career has solidified him as a figure in the underground scene, sharing the stage with titans like Rebolledo, Damon Jee, Andi, Facets and Interstellar Funk. Each set is an immersive experience and an act of innovation dedicated to the dance floor, reaffirming his vision of a futuristic sonic aesthetic.

FUTURISTIC DANCER is the most personal project of Diego Anaya J., a DJ and producer whose ten-year career is a tribute to the music that has shaped him. His sonic journey began in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, influenced by the spark of new wave and cold wave, and by iconic bands like Depeche Mode and New Order. This post-punk foundation expanded with the beginnings of electroclash and trance, giving shape to an eclectic and fluid sound that explores italo-disco, EBM, and synth-wave, creating a cutting-edge atmosphere that has become his hallmark. His focus on the dancefloor has led him to create kinetic soundscapes, where the musical experience is as much a performance as it is a ritual.

His passion has led him to share the booth with an impressive list of talents at a variety of clubs and festivals throughout the country, including: MARSMAN (PINKMAN), Paulor (Hippie Dance), Mufti (Ombra Intl), Interstellar Funk (Artificial.dance), Kris Baha (Pinkman), Sarin (X-img), Younger Than Me (90's / Berlin), and many others. These collaborations not only underscore his global relevance but also demonstrate his versatility in merging with different facets of underground music. Currently, FUTURISTIC DANCER is expanding his discography with releases on global underground labels and holds a residency at the "ASTRO BAR" club, consolidating his project as a constantly evolving force, always with an eye toward the future.
