What a fantastic tune! I love the intelligent chord changes. This is a stellar piece from beginning to end.

Just me again with another note on how good this tune is. It is the chill factor that puts it over the top. Yes the melody, the intelligent chord changes and the musicianship are superb, but it is the airy floating like atmosphere of the tune/mix that really brings all of those other qualities out.. Again, great stuff!

Next up in our Record Club Guest Mix series are Sanctuary, the moniker of Ben and Liam, a DJ duo from Australia who have been living in Berlin for the past 9 years. You may be familiar with their 'Life Classics' project. It started as an output for their own edits then later branched out into a mix series and club residency at OHM in Berlin.

Their mix landed in our inbox and from the get-go we knew it was destined for the Record Club series. Covering many spectrums of soul, it masterfully glides through tempos and unleashes a quiet storm inside you. Not ones to fear a vocal, it's stuffed full of soaring voices, sweet strings and the tightest grooves. An extended blend done right!

The guys pulled from of a couple of record bags and served it up on 1210’s at their Berlin base. As they described it "back to back burgers, boozas and records all the way". 

The mix is loaded with many of their favourites and a few dusty ones from the back of their shelves. Look out for cuts from Reggie S, Stage Coach, Edwynn Page and Herby Charles. It's packed with winners, some you knew, some you do now. A real steppers' delight.

Original instrumental composition in tribute to Duesseldorf electronic musician/composer Wolfgang Riechmann, who was senselessly murdered outside a bar in his home town on August 24, 1978.

This piano-driven piece incorporates my thing for glitchy ambient sounds, but I would be OK with classifying the piece as New Age too.  Composed, arranged and produced by Hollywood Juniper, aka Mick Ricereto, in his Philadelphia studio, early 2018.

A late-stage rehearsal straight to cassette for reference. Recorded shortly before going into the studio, probably at John Henry rehearsal rooms. This is Mark on guitar, Lee on drums, and myself on piano and organ (the bass was always addressed in the studio once the basic track was down, which is why it doesn't feature here).
