The Cheek of Her (TCOH) is London based, Solo Artist Helen Dooley, a passionate and driven Singer Songwriter with a truly individual sound, vocal and sensibility. The Cheek of Her songs are jam packed with witty lyrics and catchy melodies, always delivered with a unique, heartfelt, sometimes dark, but raw edginess. She likes nothing more than to just literally sing it as it is!

The Cheek of Her has released two five track EPs and one full album a number of Singles to date: "Passionate Shit"(2011), "Megaphonic"(2013, an album "Adult Angst Anonymous" (2014) and most recently a series of Singles, which proceed a new EP "Black Heart Mantra" due for release on 2nd May, 2016!

I am a very flexible Mixing engineer /music producer/ composer/ guitarist with high skills in recording and programming /sequencing. The tools that I used regularly are Protools, Logic and Cubase.

Music is most effective when the persons involved have a strong knowledge of music in general and high sensibility to make appropriate decisions while the production process.

What can I do for you: Music Production: live and software instruments production, mixing, mastering.

I have a strong knowledge of microphone techniques and models, high training level on protools as a recording/editing and mastering platform.

I am a composer myself with quite advanced performance skills on guitar.

Currently I am working as a mixing engineer for Downtown Artists, London and  teaching sound related modules at the ISMAI university , Portugal.


Back in the 1990s and early 2000s I was writing and producing a lot of music for TV and Film use mostly through a label called Gung-Ho. I also produced a number of white label releases. This channel is dedicated to all the lost tapes, and musical flotsam and jetsam that don’t fit anywhere else.
