It took a long time to get this tune finished because Mr Stabalina did indeed throw his hands in the air, and because he’s made of helium and sex musk, they floated off and were taken by an eagle.

We contacted Team America but they kept repeating ‘Mmmaaattt Dammmmmooonnnn’, over and over; we contacted The A-Team but they refused to travel; we contacted the Time Team but they had a problem with their geophys; no answer at all from The Suicide Squad. In the end we tracked them down with a sex-musk-o-meter. Hello. My name is Mr Stabalina. You stole my hands. Prepare to die.*

Safely back in the studio we’ve been trying alternatives to throwing actual hands in the air. We’ve tried ants, pants and washing machines, but after getting stung, arrested and breaking very many bones we’d recommend just sticking with your hands and damn the consequences.

*The Eagle and Mr Stabalina formed a firm friendship and are now fighting crime in Guatemala.

Anjunadeep mainstay Jody Wisternoff drops "The Bridge feat. Sian Evans", his first single of 2015 following last Autumn's “Paramour”, a stand out single from the iTunes chart topping ‘Anjunadeep 06’ compilation. 

'The Bridge' is a Wisternoff classic, fusing lush melodic arrangements with dancefloor grooves, with a subtle touch of old school UK sound thrown in for good measure. Sian Evans of Kosheen provides ethereal uplifting vocals. 

Shur-i-kan is on remix duties following his Anjunadeep debut 'My Love' which picked up massive Radio 1 support from Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Danny Howard earlier this year. He roughs up the melodic arrangement in favour of a clubbier, more dancefloor focused direction.

At one of my shows in San Francisco recently I got one of the strangest song requests of my career. I was in the middle of mixing in a funky glitch hop throw back banger, when a girl came up and asked for some Fleetwood Mac. Naturally, I had nothing for her. The story of Fort Knox Five and Stickybuds goes back over a decade, funk is the glue that binds these brothers together, and they have rocked the same great festivals and shows across the US and Canada.  All of that funky party rockin' has culminated with Stickybuds' first official remix of Fort Knox Five, his reinterpretation of Give It A Minute featuring bcap. No doubt you have heard Stickybuds teasing the crowd with some exclusive Fort Knox Five acapellas and drops over the years in his legendary sets, but this opens a whole new chapter with his bombastic remix.

Stickybuds cuts right to the chase, as his mix opens up immediately to bcap's narrative verse and the relentless percussive synths that propel it over the hard hitting beats.  Synth pop sensibilities of groups like Oliver and Chromeo can be heard dripping over Stickybuds unique glitch-hop style production.  With epic big builds and organic drum fills, the remix rides the line between electro and classic funk.  

From the start the remix gets you hooked on the dancefloor, delivering bcap's catchy chorus over booty shaking beats. And then the big break down devastates with its cut-up and asymmetrical glitched-out vocals layered on top of the electro-synths. Featuring a healthy dose of Rob Myers' guitar/synth lines and heavily utilizing the original vocals, the remix maintains the vibe of FK5's original track. Stickybuds delivers the goods and flips the Future Funk, Go-Go meets Glitch-Hop of the original into an Electro meets Glitch-Hop dancefloor powerhouse.

Also included is the instrumental version, which slays on its own and highlights Stickybuds impeccable studio production.  This killer remix of Give It A Minute is meant to be played loud and danced furiously to, and is the best way we could imagine finishing out the year, with an absolute banger.

Does your life need more cowbell and funky bass?  

Over the past decade there has been a strong connection between Washington DC and British Columbia, Canada. Both places have produced and nurtured some incredibly talented funkateers, many of whom have remixed Fort Knox Five over the years. It has been a dream of ours to collaborate with these artists on original tracks, pushing forward the future sound of funk to start a new era that we have dubbed "DC to BC." This release is the first of these collaborations, and the end result is nothing short of a boogie monster!  

Jinglin’ Janglin’ was written with the funk and glitch hop maestro K+lab, a New Zealander who now calls Vancouver, BC home. His funky keys, electro-basses and catchy clavinets ooze all over this track. With the addition of Rob Myers' Chic-inspired guitars and a super-stabby horn line, this track positively bounces along – a perfect hybrid of the K+Lab and FK5 styles! On top of all that, the tune features vocals from Hip-Hop royalty: Baby Bam of the Jungle Brothers, who has worked alongside De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest going back to the 1980s. His vocals bubble all over the track, telling you to just "funk wit it" and jinglin and janglin the vibes straight to your feet! This tune is a modern funk-meets-glitch hop banger that has been torching dance floors and festivals all summer.  

We are super stoked to launch the DC to BC series with this wicked Captain K+lab collaboration. Already proven to do heavy duty on the dance floor, this release includes an instrumental mix for the DJs.
