Mapping psychedelic flight patterns between worlds unknown, Noura Labbani and Jennifer Cardini’s electronic noir imprint Dischi Autunno sits right in the centre of dance music’s primordial universe. Italo, acid, electro, disco, emo, alternative, indie, lo-fi, trance, bass, new beat, big beat, synthwave and coldwave; a huge unclassifiable cauldron of moody electronic vapours fuming away at a sultry slow and low tempo.

Swooping low in the shadows since their last outing in November (Pablo Bozzi’s ‘Last Moscow Mule’) the label slides into our DMs (Doc Martens) fashionably late for 2021 with their most explorative and daring dispatch to date: ‘Intermezzo 1 & 2’. Dystopian lucid dreaming… Is this reality? Is this a nightmare? Are we sharing the same dream or are we all part of yours? 

We have no answers. But we do have the perfect soundtrack as Curses’ label Ombra International continue to join the most powerful dots around the world. Somewhere between dark disco and post-punk, it’s the label’s first vinyl release in some time with three debuts and two highlights from the recent Ombra International 17 ‘Destiny’ V/A EP. All things connected, all things unclassifiable, sitting somewhere between Italo, indie, acid house, electro, synthwave and beyond. 

Turkish dynamo Günce Acı takes the lead as she continues to accelerate into the scene with dominance. Her Ombra debut ‘Another Round’ pushes us head first into an acid primordial soup; Trippy, relentless and full of surprises, it’s another sure-fire sign of her exciting rise. 

Elsewhere long-time supporters and good friends of the label Juan MacLean and Hardway Bros also both make their label debuts. The former lays down the deep pulsating sensation ‘Monika’, a sojourn that stretches out over almost 10 minutes of heady, hypnotic bliss. Meanwhile the latter sends us love from his HQ outer space with the industrial strength euphoria bulldozer ‘Early Nineties’. 'Montreal-based producer Tyler W makes his debut as an artist with a fantastic first release on Hicky & Kalo's label Plaisirs Sonores Records. His track 'Scorpion Rising' is a melancholic piece filled with beautiful melodies. 

On remix duties, Erdi Irmak changes the tone of the track to create a gentle and pleasing organic house ballad. The handsome flute and enchanting bird sounds form an appeasing symbiosis.

Last but not least, Paul Kardos twists the original track into a progressive house weapon that will hypnotize the dancer with driving drums and emotive synth.

‘Synchronicity’ is a bold and dynamic compilation of exclusive and previously unreleased tracks from friends of Tripswitch’s flourishing onedotsixtwo label. Featuring exciting new and upcoming talent alongside some well established names, the album has been compiled and mixed by Gustin – a vital member of the onedotsixtwo A&R and management team, and a highly-respected veteran DJ and selector with over 25 years experience playing across the globe.

Following on from Tripswitch’s 2017 label launching mix compilation ‘In At The Deep End’ (ODST0001), the time is now perfect for a second V/A release. With so much amazing talent to work with, Gustin has utilised his immense experience to source an exceptional collection of tracks from around the world, including uniquely creative production talent from Argentina, India, Belarus, Estonia, USA and UK.

Having spent the past year curating exclusive tracks for ‘Synchronicity’, Gustin finally settled down in the studio to create his stunning DJ mix, a creative process exhibiting perfect selection and timing to build a musical experience that embodies depth, colour and texture, wrapped with contemplation, hypnotic beauty, energy and euphoria.  

From Brandon Lee’s opening ‘Free Minds’, a beautifully subdued groover of a track with an enticing snake-charming flute melody, Bangalore-based Weird Sounding Dude’s ‘Hugel’ eases gently into the mix with it’s soaring vocal interludes and euphoric keys. The Argentine duo, Oliver & Tom, have been in high demand recently with releases on some key labels, and its not hard to understand why as ‘True Level’ picks up the pace perfectly with its sparkling production, sublime melodies and infectious groove. 

Fellow Argentine producer, Gabriel Amato, further stokes the fire and moves the mix direction towards peak time progressive territory with ‘Starship’, its rolling bassline, hypnotic soaring lead and expertly crafted FX building to an epic breakdown par excellence. Continuing to build the energy levels, the high-flying percussive beauty of ‘Gaspra’, courtesy of the collaborative pairing of New York’s Dysco with Argentina’s Juan Ibanez, meets Michael A’s tantalizing ‘See Yourself’, and the Belarusian electronic artist’s masterful, distinctive melodic atmospherics are always a joy to behold.

The spiky, scene setting, contemplative flow of ‘Cloud Atlas’ from Estonian born and Texan based producer Kaspar Tasane is perfectly placed to introduce Rodrigo Deem’s pumped-up ‘Panorama’, before another super-talented Argentine producer, the inimitable Partenaire, makes a welcome return to onedotsixtwo with his latest exquisite masterpiece, ‘The Warmth’. 

We stay in that creative hotbed country as Berni Turletti & Agustin Lupidi combine to create ‘Suyai’, a soaring symphony of synth magnificence that builds towards the album’s peak. Out of golden summer tones and autumnal harvest, Dmitry Molosh emerges through the "Orchard". From the broad banks of the Mukhavets River, beautiful sonic timbres create a rich sonic hue that glitters in sparkling sunlit patterns. A smooth bassline cadence fills the musical canvas as wonderful shards reveal themselves in sultry percussive rhythms and an exalted air of triumph oozes from every bar.

Dutch mastery from Kasper Koman reveals a new path within the familiar patterns of the "Orchard". A perfectly weighted backdrop provides the foundation for new melodies to emerge from the rhythmic bed. A spine-tingling bass progression reveals a crisp and crunchy new flavour. The golden age of the underground lost and found within an industry icon. Kharkhiv and Karlsruhe joined together by a single thread finds musical cross-pollination via Tantum and Arude. Grown out of storming bassline groove, smooth melodies blossom as delayed arpeggios echo through the trees.

A returning legend, Rauschhaus once again showcases a powerful performance with gentle touch and skill. Fresh melodies emerge from the branches of the "Orchard" to create a delicious aural flavour that shimmers with glissando freedom, while detailed layers expose perfectly formed harmonic phrases that create a sumptuous dancefloor accent.
