John Cosani, electronic music DJ and producer, was born in 1988 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. From an early age, his interest in music became evident, getting even stronger with time. At the age of 12 he began his musical studies with piano lessons and later on, when he discovered house music, he fell in love with its eclectic and enveloping sound. At 16 years old, he began playing in small parties, setting a start point for his passion and his imminent career as a DJ.

"As the New Year appears, 2022 sees fresh music come into focus as Meanwhile Horizons welcomes Chris Zippel to the roster and his “Noosphere / Ombra” EP.
 
An iconic artist with a host of impressive production credentials to his name, Chris Zippel, has been at the vanguard of electronic music since the age of 15. His portfolio thus sees music writing credits for the Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams, Norah Jones and Paul Van Dyk in a long and illustrious career. Splitting his time between his Berlin hometown and the party island of Ibiza, Zippel also has a raft of solo production credits to his name, dating back to a debut for Organic Records in early 2001. Since then, a cornucopia of underground electronic music has found its way onto the likes of Elektrolux, Parasol Phonotheque, Ubersee Music and Allisum Records.
 
Now debuting on GMJ and Matter’s sister imprint, Chris Zippel opens with the spellbinding “Noosphere”. Anchored upon a thumping beat and ticking hi-hat percussion, a rolling groove is the perfect bedrock for a hypnotic analogue bassline to propel the track forwards, accompanied by a smooth arpeggio and sympathetic melodic phrasing. The result is a rare and emotive combination that arouses hairs on the back of the neck as “Noosphere” builds in unrelenting fashion to a rousing dénouement in the second half.
 
Continuing the rich melodic building blocks of its partner track, “Ombra” is a slightly more relaxed affair with its beautifully sculpted analogue envelopes that simultaneously harness the spirit of Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis and Georgio Moroder. A gloriously filtered arpeggio meanders across proceedings as white noise crashes and ethereal chord sequences paint a vivid sonic picture, gradually revealing itself across an 8-minute timeframe, atop a sumptuous undulating groove.
 
Out of the shadows, Chris Zippel is able to harness a sublime musical evolution, illustrated by his “Noosphere / Ombra” EP."

Sri Lankan producer Noiyse Project takes 'Reveal' on a driving progressive journey, while fellow Melbourne producers McKeown and Bassiray push their version of 'Killing Time' to a serious depth, in a dark and moody breaks version for the next release on Late Night Music.

We present to Sebastian Busto, big artist from Argentina that had a lot of supports from artist like Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. He is in labels like Sudbeat, The Soundgarden and Replug among others. He is in charge of the “Rename It” remix by Francisco Castro released on our Apolo compilation last year. He offers us a pure progressive interpretation mixing new and fresh sounds. 

Be the Limit by Sinan Arsan is remixed by EMPHI, a young and talented artist. He brings us a spectacular version with his style and essence. The drop and breakdown turn it into a special track for the dancefloor.

Kabi (AR) debuted on Droid9 South America with a special remix for “The Other Side” by Aliens Like Us released in our compilation Afrodita last year. He did a very nice fusion between House groove and Progressive House melodies and harmony.

Sinan Arsan - Be The Limit (EMPHI Remix) [Droid9 South America]

As 2022 opens its doors, Izzet returns to Particles "With Hope". First making his debut over a decade ago on NewBorn Records, further work in the intervening years has seen the Russian artist feature on the likes of Liquid Grooves, Proton Limited and Clinique. A clutch of releases between 2018 and 2021 then saw him feature on Particles with the "Summer Goodbye" and "Abstraction Distraction" EPs, plus remixes for Pole Folder, Savvas and Rafa'EL.

"With Hope" is a powerful glistening progressive house offering with rich piano sequences and emotive bassline sustaining their presence throughout. Waxing and waning in laconic fashion at a stripped back breakdown, new musical elements come to the fore through muted synths and textured pads. A deep kick and rolling groove add to the aural melange in a smooth and beautifully arranged offering. Partner track, "Puncher" offers the same rich melodic framework, as reverse synths make their play against a growing bassline force that sits below in subtly incongruous fashion. Beautiful piano elements are introduced at the mid-point breakdown and into the third movement as a tight percussive groove provides the perfect accompaniment for the surrounding melodic elements.

Bangalore based artist, Weird Sounding Dude, has found himself much in-demand throughout 2021 with a plethora of music signed to a host of blue chip imprints that included Mango Alley, Clubsonica Records, onedotsixtwo and the behemoth that is Anjunadeep. With over 200 production credits to his name, the fast-growing Indian star now debuts on Particles with an immaculate reinterpretation of "With Hope" that captures the essence of Izzet's original. Transforming into a floor-filling gem that shimmers with percussive energy and subtle synth elements from "With Hope" original parts shine through in gated and filtered fashion to create a vibrant new track. A head-shaking rhythm section add weight and gravitas throughout in an impressive remix.

An artist forging a distinctive creative path with his blend of progressive house and melodic techno, Mayro has grown significantly since a 2016 debut for Renensanz. A raft of original material has subsequently found its way onto the likes of Lowbit, Siona Records and Traful, supported by a stellar cast of A-list DJs that include Nick Warren, Eelke Kleijn, Miss Monique and Matan Caspi. Making his Particles debut, Mayro has created a sparkling rework of "Puncher" that carries the central melodic theme of the original while surrounding it in a swathe of new production material. A heavy kick and bassline groove provide gravity while an intricately programmed percussive top-line adds flair and depth. A filtered arpeggio from Izzet's track filters to the fore, providing familiarity as the track progresses into an evolving second half, while the dynamic rhythmic force creates a sultry and seething dancefloor powerhouse.

"With Hope", Izzet provides a bright and powerful start to 2022, perfectly supported by Weird Sounding Dude and Mayro.

onedotsixtwo is delighted to welcome Australia’s Tristan Case back to the label for a solo EP, following on from his first excursion with us as one half of Case & Barlow, who joined us with ‘Dorse’ back in 2019 (ODST018). Tristan’s stunning original titled ‘Bubble Modulators’ is complimented by a fantastic Maximo Gambini & Q.A.T remix and our label boss, Tripswitch, turns in an epic breaks interpretation. 

Tristan’s star has been in ascendance since he first joined us back in 2019, and he now revisits us with a stunning piece entitled ‘Bubble Modulators’. Based in Sydney, Australia’s Tristan Case is a long time resident of one of Australia’s premier festivals, Return to Rio, and has recently been releasing on respected labels such as Do Not Sit and Sound Avenue, with the formers release hitting number one on the overall Beatport release chart. 

The original is an epic ride, with Tristan’s signature written all over it. Deep rolling bass, soaring keys and syncopated vocal cuts build, twist, and turn into an explosive breakdown, and out the other side to a thunderous finale. Argentina’s Maximo Gambini & Q.A.T make a welcome return to the label following their debut EP with us, Stochastic Process, in the summer of 2021, and give Bubble Modulators their unique treatment, taking the original and giving it a more subtle flowing feel while retaining its raw energy and the addition of a breakdown fit for the biggest of stages. Lastly, but certainly not least, our very own Tripswitch gives us a multi-layered atmospheric breaks remix, taking the deep progressive elements of the original and fusing them masterfully into a euphoric breaks crescendo.

Reinvigorating their collaborative partnership Dmitry Molosh and Michael A return to Cid Inc's Replug Records with 'Integral'. Hailing from Belarus, both Dmitry and Michael sit amongst progressive music's elite guard. Their respective solo productions continue to earn play and support from the genre's premiere tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while also landing them releases on Hope Recordings and Sudbeat Music. Also calling Replug a comfortable home, Dmitry and Michael now return to the label with their first collaborative project in almost four years.

Much loved for their exploration of all things progressive and groovy, the Belarus duo exceeds expectations here, delivering two stunning pieces of music beginning with the title selection 'Integral'. Set in motion by a warm, chunky foundation, its robust core comes up quickly, with layers of finely tuned drums, crunchy rhythms and squelchy synths uniting in a fiery sonic comet. Shifting energy into the main break, heartfelt harmonics and fragmented melodies gently blanket the electric underbelly, resonating on a higher frequency as tasteful modulation rises and the groove drops for a chugging finale.

Operating on a similar sonic plane is the companion piece 'Twelve Days'. Otherworldly in nature, tough beats and dark stabs anchor the journey as the piece flows through a series of pulsating rhythms and mind-bending effects. Continuing on an unpredictable storyboard, ominous overlays and percussive flashes highlight the first act, perfectly setting up an icy break. Adding further intrigue, a wave of tranquil arps provide an effervescent foundation for the duo's dystopian soundscapes, before building to a granular sizzle as a rush of drums ignites a powerful crescendo. It caps off a hugely successful project from two of progressive music's most talented artists, further solidifying Replug's place at the top of this burgeoning genre.
