“Intanto a Matera...” è un’opera che rende omaggio alla tradizione popolare materana.
È un pastiche musicale, una personale rielaborazione di musiche e frammenti di musica popolare. 
Il brano è cosparso di melodie tradizionali, dai canti contadini ai motivi della celebre festa della "Madonnna della Bruna" del 2 luglio. A volte suddetti motivi si susseguono e sovrappongono cercando di rievocare la concitazione e la confusione della festa, altrove il carattere intimo o religioso prende il sopravvento.
I fini del brano sono molteplici: divertire, rievocare, emozionare, rendere un tributo alla millenaria cultura materana, ma anche invitare alla condivisione e alla fraternità, poiché la ricchezza culturale di un territorio, un luogo geografico, di un popolo, appartiene a tutti indistintamente ed è patrimonio dell'intera umanità. 
Affinché le differenze culturali possano essere ricchezza e non rappresentare muri, offro il mio piccolo contributo per costruire un ponte con la musica, che così bene si presta a questo scopo.
