Together since 2010, VA make what they call "Electric Soul" comprising of Psychedelic Blues, Latin Grooves, and Progressive Funk in the traditions of Classic Bands like Led Zeppelin and the Doors. Vanishing Apollo is Mike Kabat on Guitar, Chris Kulow on Bass, Chris "Bubba" Gray on Percussion and Keyboards, and Ben Brown on Vocals. New Album Coming Soon!

They are a 4 piece  100% originals band . They formed in 2013 . They consist of Harry Hoban , Gar Kane and Gerry Kane from Dublin and session musician David Bellew from Dundalk.
Their music is an eclectic mix of everything from acoustic folk to storytelling ballads with a punk edge  .
Harry and David also play as part of David Keenan’s band and have just played EP on the Jerry Fish stage .
HHBK have played to packed houses in Whelan’s , The Spirit Store ,The Sugar Club etc this year ,
The plan for 2018 is to launch an EP early and hit the festivals , whilst spilling their guts through song  agus gra X

I chose the name Awkward Satellite because i felt most of my life like i'm on a different wave length than most people, meaning we are thinking completely differently. Not that i thought i was superior, not at all! Just that I thought differently overall, from the angle of the conversation to what I cared about daily, I was just a little weird. 

I've always felt encouraged to get across my messages to all kinds of people out there. Whether they're just like me or they're the total opposite. That's where the Satellite metaphor comes from. Me feeling like i didn't always belong, made me feel secluded or alien, and a satellite sends signals from space to earth. When i think about myself on that spectrum i feel just like a satellite i'm out of this world out on my own trying to communicate back with people on earth about my passions, or fears, or concerns. And it's going to come across a little awkward because i'm different, thus leading us to the Artist name Awkward Satellite. Plus at the time I wanted to choose something that was going to beat googles search engine and I knew Awkward Satellite would immediately lead to my content. So multiples reasons as to why I chose that name both deep and cleverly surfaced.
