I was looking for the light, the light up in your eyes. 
I haven’t seen it shine since the day you shut me out.
I guess it never dawned on me that maybe I am supposed to be on the run, looking for something else.
Maybe I’m not prepared. Maybe I’m just mental.
Can I ever get it through to you that maybe I am here for me not you.

And that was/is not a total lie.

My dad sent me some money to help me take a trip to visit him and I was so embarrassed, because I was struggling to pay my rent.
Even if he got that ticket, I still couldn’t afford to take a week off work.
So like a jerk, I never told him why.
I just made a lame excuse and said I was too afraid to fly.

And that was/is not a total lie.

If I move would this all just fly away?
Always on the run, looking for something else.
Never had a home to claim.
Maybe I’m not satisfied.
With my life at any time.
Is this my demise?
Am I wasting time?
Do I hit the lights?
Tell the story right. 
Is this really it?
Am I destined to be nothing, riding the the waves.
Dreaming of dreams. 
Thinking bout things, never helped me.
