Umenzi, singer, song writer and a visual artist was born in uMlazi, Kwazulu Natal. A servant of the Most High and a vehicle of higher consciousness. He studied music at the University of KwaZulu Natal Durban, a self taught guitarist with dymamic vocal abilities and plays multiple instruments. In his music he explores the sounds of nature and the vibration of the elements he is highly inspired by the music of the birds and the healing touch of word sound. With a background of spoken word, classical music, Zulu guitar and Reggae, Umenzi opens a new chapter in African Roots Reggea world Music bringing melodies from Mountain, Sea and Forest a higher frequency sound. He  has worked with a number of musicians in Johannesburg from all over the world.  Umenzi has performed in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana. In 2019 he travelled to ShenZen, China, to 
exhibit his work. Umenzk is also a lead singer of a band he formed in 2009, called Men of the Past. At First Light is he released his debut Album a book of songs written in the crucial period of his life. These songs are a  guiding spirit and light when one is in need.
