Country, blues and garage rock influenced duo making a racket in the basement

North Mississippi Allstars formed in 1996; the product of a special time for modern Mississippi hill country blues. Brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson soaked up the music of their father, Memphis legend Jim Dickinson, and absorbed the North Mississippi legacy while playing and shaking it down in the juke joints with their blues ancestors. R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, Otha Turner and their musical families were at their peak, making classic records and touring the world. Eventually, Luther (guitar, vocals) and Cody (drums, vocals) formed the North Mississippi Allstars and pioneered their own brand of blues-infused rock and roll.

September 3, 2013 the North Mississippi Allstars will release WORLD BOOGIE IS COMING, the seventh studio record for the band recently crowned “Americana music luminaries” by National Public Radio. They produced it themselves at their own Zebra Ranch Studios in Coldwater, MS, aside from a day in the studio with Robert Plant (and his harmonica) at Memphis’ legendary Royal Studios.The Dickinson Brothers did it with the help of long-time friends, Lightnin’ Malcolm, Duwayne and Garry Burnside, Kenny Brown, Alvin Youngblood Hart, Sharde Thomas, Chris Chew, Sid and Steve Selvidge, Plant and others. Formed around the raspy-raw and soulful singer Dee, her band from the London urban jungle and surroundings includes some of London's finest that have worked with the likes of  DJ Fresh, Professor Green, Gregory Porter, Brassroots and Scubaroots to name but a few.

The engine behind the voice is Frank Uhl; he is the technical nouse and musical brainchild. Modest and quiet, the two complement each other well.

The Vagaband have taken their brand of roots rock and Celtic soul across the UK & Europe for the last 15 years. Playing bars, street corners and house concerts and eventually honing their craft as festival headliners. With a rotating line up of multi-instrumentalists and José McGill as the ever-present writer and producer, they have released a consistent output of slick Celtic /Americana.
