Le Maroc en 1967 pour Myriam en tant que juive après la guerre des 6 jours, et la Chine pour Caroline au début des années 90 après le massacre de Tian’an men. L’une était encore adolescente, l’autre passionnée par la langue française. Tout aurait dû bien se passer pour elles en France, et pourtant, elles l’ont quittée en espérant des jours meilleurs au Canada.
