With unwavering dedication, he honed his skills on Soundlab Belt drive Turntables before making the momentous switch to the legendary Technics 1210s. His vinyl collection, amassed over decades, serves as a treasure trove of US House & Garage, UK jungle, and Drum & Bass, reflecting the rich tapestry of electronic music. 

Mikey DJ's musical selection is a fusion of Deep Underground House and UK US Garage, distinguished by its deep and bumpy groove, complemented by soulful vocal elements. Each of his sets is a transcendent journey, designed to awaken the senses and ignite a fiery passion for the beat in his audience.

The 25th release to come from Footjob, we are looking on a delicious eight track compilation which is guaranteed to bring heat to the dancefloors. Footure Classics Vol. 3 combines the label’s beloved quality sound of our resident artists and also welcomes a few new faces. The opener “Carry On” is delivered by The Dead Rose Music Company and sets the pace right away showcasing some good old on-point sample work. Head honcho Phonk D contributes two danceable collaborative tracks with Van Aachen (“Make A Change”) and Sascha Ciminiera (“Ortona Sunset”). Siggatunez and Rolf Royce also opt for a joint tune called “What We All Want” – a dreamy, yet still banging anthem for those special moments in the morning hours. Exploring new musical grounds, Lukas Lehmann puts his synths into heavy action for a stomping acidy approach, ironically dubbing it “No Sir, I Can’t Acid”. For those into Nu Disco Claus Casper serves his inciting and fun “Spaghetti Eyes” while Disco Sour provide a contemporary edit based on a 40-year-old classic. The compilation is rounded off by Most Haunted, who gently takes us back to 80s vibes with his "Timemachine", without missing to give the whole thing a modern twist.

It's not every day you have the opportunity to warm-up for your favourite artist...  I was that lucky a few weeks back.

We were fortunate to welcome Ethyène to our Attic fold as part of his very first Australian tour.  Ethyène's sample-driven house and disco original tracks, remixes and edits have formed a significant part of our collections—and, indeed, our Attic sets!—over the last couple of years.  As far as I'm concerned; it really doesn't get much better...

Accordingly, this was a set that consumed a lot of thought, emotion, plenty of nerves and significant effort—it's one I hold dear.

With the man himself listening intently just a few metres away and a dance-floor building; the stage was set at Harpoon Harry—and here is the result...

She's a lower, slower, affair, with plenty of vinyl included.

Through the years the enigmatic UC Beatz has become a respected figure in the  House Music scene. It is with his imprint Entrepôt Records that he definitely made a name for himself. He started selling and promoting his records without distributor nor PR and still does today. With 13 releases, all sold out and regularly played in the 
biggest clubs by the greatest DJ’s, his label has acquired a worldwide reputation and has been praised by DJ Mag. Last year saw the release of UC Beatz’s first full length. It has received a massive support from the public and as a result the physical copies of 
the album were sold out in less than a week. As this wasn’t enough his much acclaimed Untitled Track 11 EP was repressed for the 2nd time in a row due to an overwhelming demand. Next to that, he has produced more than 50 EPs on a range of international labels including Classic Music Company and Razor-N-Tape.

In the spirit of defecting from the much-maligned third-person bio approach: in short, I am a Sydney-based DJ who specialises in the sounds of deeper house and disco.  I take delight in playing a solid warm-up set and revel in the success of watching a room build around it.

Since making my club debut as a fresh-faced eighteen-year-old at 'Thursday Delights' at the Icebox—a popular trance and hard dance event of the time—I have been lucky enough to play right across Sydney, enjoying bookings at Sounds on Sunday, S*A*S*H, Chinese Laundry, Plastic, Café del Mar, The Burdekin and Candy's Apartment; as well as larger-scale events such as Big Day Out and Harbour Party NYE.

In the process, I've also been fortunate enough to support some of the leading names in dance music—both locally and from around the world—including LCD Soundsystem, Booka Shade, Subb-an, Chymera, Sonja Moonear, Luke Chable, Jasper James, YokoO, Kenny Glasgow, Darren Emerson, Mark Dynamix and Kid Kenobi, to name just a few.

I like to put on the promoter hat, too, hosting and playing at events of my own: 'Attic' being my main project.

Since its inception, the Attic brand has enjoyed success in its standalone parties—for which we've toured renowned house and disco artists, Fouk, Nachtbraker, Folamour and Laurence Guy, to name a few—as well as appearing all around Sydney for invitational takeovers, radio appearances, and exclusive showcase sets.

Away from the club dancefloor, you might also find me playing an extended-length set in a low-lit bar, exercising the deeper, more eclectic selections of my record box—lower, slower and groovy, just the way I like it!

For ten years, I was heavily involved with the Internet radio game, hosting successful programs, 'Friday Night Live' and 'The M Shift'; on Indiesoundz and NSB Radio networks, respectively.  The M Shift, which ran for six years, specialised in breaks, house and drum 'n' bass, and was regularly enjoyed by thousands of live listeners, downloaders, and Podcast-listeners alike.

As above, I pride myself on playing a good warm-up set—added again for emphasis!—and believe it to be somewhat of a lost art form in this current age.

I also don't mind getting in the studio occasionally, but that facet, for now, is still very much a work in progress!
