I've been incredibly fortunate to enjoy a decent swag of bookings at the Sydney institution that is S.A.S.H. @sashsundays over the last six or so years.  In doing so, I've also managed to record a number of them, and here they are!

These are reasonably varied in style: some early afternoon/evening warm-up efforts; some recorded in the disco-friendly 'Maze' at Home; others dish up more of your dancefloor-friendly fodder; another I recorded in the comfort of my own studio during the COVID-era.

There is plenty of content within.  Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed delivering it!

Live at S.A.S.H.

Behold!  My set from S*A*S*H – from Sunday, 17 August – is now up and available...

Naturally, I was absolutely stoked to have been asked to play at arguably Sydney's biggest weekly event, which boasted a star-studded local line-up and included the bookings of Alex Flatner, Sean Patrick and Nox.

What's more, the S*A*S*H boys were been kind enough to give me a very generous three-hour set, opening the second room from 6 PM.

This was a varied set, featuring some deep numbers up front, with a rather "sunset" housey stanza in the middle, and closing off with some bigger grooves – all around 116-117 BPM, just the way I like it!

I had a wonderful time playing this set, and could have comfortably stretched on another three hours!

Big shouts to the S*A*S*H boys, Cris, Matt and Kerry for having me on.

Live at S.A.S.H. (17th August, 2014)

Well, the dust has settled on what was a truly brilliant afternoon and again, that the rain proved absolutely no match for the positive vibes and energy that was S.A.S.H. — on this occasion, The Chapel Edition!

I really enjoyed myself, playing a selection of my current favourites — as well as a few other selections from deeper in the box from yesteryear.  Of course, it was made all the more pleasurable by the receptive, warm-welcoming crowd (who you'll hear, make an appearance in this mix!)

I was fortunate to receive the booking for the 4–6 set time, and — courtesy of one Jackson Winter — the afternoon was already nicely warmed up when I jumped on!

Once again, this S.A.S.H. crew really knows how to run a party — regardless of the conditions!

Big ups and much, much love to Cris, Kerry, Matt, Harley, Shana, and everyone who boogied away to my set!

I'm still smiling ear-to-ear following my set at S*A*S*H, this morning.

I've played some really enjoyable gigs over the last couple of years, but this one, in particular, was incredibly special and will be held dear and remembered very fondly for some time indeed!

A special thank you to Cris, Matt and Kerry for the booking: for having faith in me, to hand me a prime slot; and to the many happy faces who danced, grooved and partied into the early hours in The Den with me!

Fortunately, I happened to record the set — which comes complete with audio from the crowd — and it's now available to listen to and download.

Here is the recording from my recent set at S*A*S*H, closing The Den in the early hours of Monday morning!

Massive shouts to the super-receptive crowd who danced right throughout — many of whom very likely kicking on from the 'Tell No Tales' festival from earlier in the day!

I was able to play a wide range of tunes that are currently floating my boat: from my current 'Attic'-style cuts, some disco-infused house, concluding on more of a drum-driven tip.

With that, special thanks must be paid to the S*A*S*H crew — particular Cris — for the booking consideration (and indeed, trust), once again.  And certainly not to forget George (Mesan) who played an outstanding, warm set to open up the room and attract a "proper Den crowd".

Andrew Fazzolari & Brendan Clay - Attic hosts The Maze at S.A.S.H. (12th February, 2017) - Part Two

Well, after a sizeable weekend, we can finally make available our recorded set from S*A*S*H By Day at Greenwood Hotel: Andrew Fazzolari—the other half of Attic—and I, opening the afternoon's proceedings.

Of course, just two days before, we'd hosted our second Attic event—with Nachtbraker joining us as our very special guest—so it was fitting and incredibly enjoyable to share the bill with Maurits once again, in the wonderful sunny surroundings of North Sydney on a Sunday afternoon.

This particular mix is a deeper, slower affair: 110–114 BPM melodic goodness; and a fairly decent insight into our musical ethos, and the sound we're pushing for our Attic brand—minus the disco flavours, of course.

Massive thanks to the S*A*S*H crew for the opportunity, and the hospitality over the course of the afternoon.  We enjoyed ourselves immensely and your brand is an absolute credit to our Sydney scene.

Live at S.A.S.H. (7th May, 2017)

Here is my recorded set from last Sunday evening, closing up S*A*S*H By Day: the daytime stanza of the amazingly strong and ever-consistent weekly event.

I played right after the day's headliner, Scottish house guru, Jasper James.  The crowd—as is always the case with S*A*S*H—were extremely welcoming and certainly up-for-it, and lapped up the unseasonal warmer Sydney vibes with an abundance of smiles!

This set contains some driving, melodic disco house vibes, some deeper house selections—some of which I've not enjoyed for a little while—and concludes on a faster, more pumping tip; a staple for the weekly event, really.

Many thanks and much love to the S*A*S*H crew for the booking, the hospitality, and the warm and fuzzies—particularly Cris, for his full encouragement and belief that, hey, I can play a closing set!  Much love to the regular S*A*S*H party people, too, who somehow make this Sunday shindig one of the strongest, most consistent events our fair city has ever seen!

I had a whole lot of fun delivering this one, and hope that is also translated via the stream/download.

A massive milestone in Sydney's dance music scene, the incredibly consistent and ridiculously fun S*A*S*H turns 7  ! HUGE !
 
It was very humbling to get a call from Kerry, Cris & the S*A*S*H gang - inviting the Attic boys Brendan Clay & Andrew Fazzolari to help celebrate the  special occasion.
 
As expected, it was a deep and disco set in the MAZE @ Home nightclub for the evening stanza of the event.

Attic Live at S.A.S.H. 7th Birthday (1st April, 2018)

The dust has settled on the last few busy weeks, and I'm finally making my recent solo S*A*S*H mix available—a deeper, warm-up effort in The Den, right before The Fazz and I took things big for the last couple of hours. In delivering this one; I tried to focus on building and maintaining a groove; keeping the room "warm" during the earlier hours, readying it for what was to come.

Live at S.A.S.H. (10th November, 2019)

Brendan Clay @themshift and I have been booked fairly consistently for back-to-back sets under our @atticsydney guise in recent time. In the lead up to those; we'll often discuss (at length) particular tunes, remixes, labels, and throw around/brainstorm ideas for upcoming sets to create a certain "vibe".

For some time now, we've held certain tracks dear—and kept them aside—with an undivided, collective belief that "this track would absolutely blow up The Den at @s-a-s-h-sundays on a late Sunday evening or Monday morning".

We suspect that if you've spent any length of time at S*A*S*H; you'll probably form a picture of what that might look like... but we could surprise you all the same.

This is a testament to the crew over at S*A*S*H, their brand, the tireless work put in on a weekly basis, and its reputation for creating such a synonymous vibe, unlike any other.

A few weeks back, we finally got to pull out those very tunes, and we had a blast! This mix—the second half of our four-hour epic—is what we came up with..

Andrew Fazzolari & Brendan Clay Live at S.A.S.H. (10th November, 2019)

The Fazz @andrewfazzolari and I were kindly asked to open proceedings at S*A*S*H By Day on Sunday afternoon just passed.  Despite it appearing to be a smoky—and later, a rainy—affair in its early stages; the show must go on... and it certainly did.

We kicked off on the lower, slower, deeper tip, throwing on a selection of sub-110 BPM burners, setting the stage—and warming the floor—for Sondrio, Mo'funk and later... Black Loops!

Within this couple-of-hour-long offering, you'll hear a range of selections from the likes of Tilman, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Frits Wentink, Harold Heath, Jehan and Admin, to name just a few.

Many thanks, as always to Cris, Kerry and the S*A*S*H collective for keeping us in mind—as always, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Whether demanding a sweaty, pumping late-night/early-morning shift in The Den, the lower, slower, disco vibes in The Maze, or a sun-soaked warm-up effort at S.A.S.H By Day; bookings at S.A.S.H quickly become personal highlights and are always, always subject for excitement.

Well, we received this very call a couple of months back which came with a comforting indication: "once we're back; you're back."

With the ever-evolving situation that we call 2020; we have little doubt that the call came with an expectation that we'd be "back" in the saddle by now.  While that's not (yet) to be; we were offered a unique opportunity in the interim:

Back in September, we were—quite literally—handed the keys to the kingdom by Marley for the purpose of throwing down another edition of S.A.S.H's Sunday stanza for its Lockdown Radio series.  (And what a sweet space to spend an afternoon, it must be stated!)

We approached this as an opportunity to build our own theoretical S.A.S.H By Day composition—albeit, a condensed rendition of four hours—beginning with melodic, deeper vibes as a "warm-up", and running through deeper house, dashes of disco, with some top-drawer signature S.A.S.H-esque chuggers towards its conclusion.  Two parts Attic, two parts S.A.S.H, and plenty in-between.

This particular hour is the very first—more of a warm-up effort containing a selection of more off-the-grid, Attic-flavoured tunes from a line-up of "usual suspects".

While you're no doubt spoilt for choice with DJ mix content online nowadays; we hope that this offering will quench your thirst for all things S.A.S.H in your lounge room or office, in preparation for a time we're all back together on the (real) dance floor before too long. S.A.S.H Lockdown Radio Mix (September 2020)

In the spirit of defecting from the much-maligned third-person bio approach: in short, I am a Sydney-based DJ who specialises in the sounds of deeper house and disco.  I take delight in playing a solid warm-up set and revel in the success of watching a room build around it.

Since making my club debut as a fresh-faced eighteen-year-old at 'Thursday Delights' at the Icebox—a popular trance and hard dance event of the time—I have been lucky enough to play right across Sydney, enjoying bookings at Sounds on Sunday, S*A*S*H, Chinese Laundry, Plastic, Café del Mar, The Burdekin and Candy's Apartment; as well as larger-scale events such as Big Day Out and Harbour Party NYE.

In the process, I've also been fortunate enough to support some of the leading names in dance music—both locally and from around the world—including LCD Soundsystem, Booka Shade, Subb-an, Chymera, Sonja Moonear, Luke Chable, Jasper James, YokoO, Kenny Glasgow, Darren Emerson, Mark Dynamix and Kid Kenobi, to name just a few.

I like to put on the promoter hat, too, hosting and playing at events of my own: 'Attic' being my main project.

Since its inception, the Attic brand has enjoyed success in its standalone parties—for which we've toured renowned house and disco artists, Fouk, Nachtbraker, Folamour and Laurence Guy, to name a few—as well as appearing all around Sydney for invitational takeovers, radio appearances, and exclusive showcase sets.

Away from the club dancefloor, you might also find me playing an extended-length set in a low-lit bar, exercising the deeper, more eclectic selections of my record box—lower, slower and groovy, just the way I like it!

For ten years, I was heavily involved with the Internet radio game, hosting successful programs, 'Friday Night Live' and 'The M Shift'; on Indiesoundz and NSB Radio networks, respectively.  The M Shift, which ran for six years, specialised in breaks, house and drum 'n' bass, and was regularly enjoyed by thousands of live listeners, downloaders, and Podcast-listeners alike.

As above, I pride myself on playing a good warm-up set—added again for emphasis!—and believe it to be somewhat of a lost art form in this current age.

I also don't mind getting in the studio occasionally, but that facet, for now, is still very much a work in progress!
