Originally written and produced for my final exams in music production 2 years ago, Showdown is a relaxed downtempo jazz track that takes you on a ride into a lovely summer day. As the mode is mellow and relaxed, trumpets and guitars gently play and tell the tale off driving into the sunset. As you unwind and feel a breeze of happiness, you know it's going to be a lovely day.

Hello everyone,
With great joy I present the night service commutes third single Clockwork. This hypnotic jazz track is an eclectic blend of instruments that will make your brain melt and your feet move. As drum brakes play, and  tasty chords are laid down, the instruments tell the story of inner city life.

Widely regarded as one of the most important female haiku poets, Fukuda Chiyo-ni was a Japanese poet of the Edo period. She started writing haiku early in her childhood and was strongly influenced by Basho’s poetry (probably because her teachers were his students).

The fundamentals in Basho’s poetry include: sabi (detached loneliness), wabi (poverty of spirit), hosomi (slenderness, sparseness), shiori (tenderness), sokkyo (spontaneity), makoto (sincerity), fuga (elegance), karumi (simplicity), kyakkan byosha (objectivity), and shiZen to hitotsu ni naru (oneness with nature). Fukuda Chiyo-ni was particularly interested in the latter, since most of her poetry deals with the realm of nature.

Shelter Dub

Dutch based musician/producer the night service commute started his musical journey ten years ago. He finds inspiration in skateboarding, graffiti, hiphop, jazz, funk, soul, reggae, ska, triphop, radio, blues, cinema, and atmospheres. After finding his own sound he created an eclectic blend of downtempo atmospheric jazz with crushed beats, funk, soul and a pinch of lofi.
