The late great Frankie Knuckles once called house music: "church for people that have fallen from grace." Anyone who has been caught up in the rapture of a true house classic can testify to its power to unify and uplift. 
House Gospel Choir is the place where spirituality and the euphoria of the dancefloor come together. Founded by Creative Producer & vocalist Natalie Maddix, HGC is a voice for those that can sing… but don't always know the words! It's a home for anyone who has ever found themselves lost in music at a festival, or in a night club… or on the tube on the way to work. 
The choir brings together outstanding singers, all passionate about music and performance and dedicated to giving a great show. Directed by the seasoned powerhouse vocalist, ShezAr; HGC’s leaders have a history of working with choirs and have sessioned and toured with the likes of The Kooks, MNEK, Scissor Sisters, Wretch 32, Naughty Boy, Gorgon City, Stormzy and Labrinth - to name a few. House Choir shows are amped up even further by DJ Fonti, formerly of the legendary Heartless Crew, and his effortless mixing and blending of the biggest tunes House & Garage tunes. Percussion from Dezy Bongo and live keyboards by Stevie Mac combine with the troupe to create an authentic House meets Gospel sound that never fails to raise the roof.
Throughout 2014 HGC delivered rousing sets at Glastonbury, Latitude Festival and Buckingham Palace, as well as sold out shows at the ACE Hotel Shoreditch as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. 2015 saw HGC continue to deliver sold out performances for Norfolk & Norwich and Hull Freedom Festival’s as well as two headline show’s at Shoreditch’s Rich Mix. 2016 is off to an exciting start with HGC set to take their party on the road by securing the closing night show for Australia’s upcoming Perth International Arts Festival.
The choir has also been seen with Labrinth on Later... with Jools Holland and the New Year’s Eve Special of Top of the Pops. And they can be heard lending backing vocals to UK dance duo Gorgon City’s latest single “Saving My Life.”
HGC is built on the understanding that we can't all speak at the same time and have our voices heard but we can sing together as one voice and be understood. Our mantra applies to the audience too, who are always encouraged to join in with call and response, handclapping, dancing and simply having a good old time. For seven years, Billa held one of Chicago’s hottest residencies at Blind Barber, turning Saturday nights into an institution and earning a devoted following. His talent also led to residencies at Virgin Hotel and Soho House, where he further solidified his place in the city’s nightlife scene. Beyond Chicago, Billa has made his mark with memorable performances at festivals like Mamby on the Beach, SXSW, and Lollapalooza, showcasing his ability to connect with audiences on a larger stage.

Right place, right time. It's an old cliché, but it's one that's been the definition of Dennis Ferrer's musical career. Just as the dance music world was heading into the world of afro-centric house, Ferrer was there. And then, when it began to embrace the mix of tech and soul, Ferrer was there again, leading the way with his impeccable productions. As Ferrer goes, it seems, so does electronic music. And, as someone who's never content to do the same thing twice, it's clear that he'll be staying on top for years to come.

Ferrer burst back into the consciousness of most dance music heads with the release of "Sandcastles," (Ibadan) his collaboration with Jerome Sydenham in 2003. But, to his credit, Ferrer didn't simply repeat the formula afterwards. He has continued to push a variety of genres all at once. It's clear that Ferrer isn't content to rest on his laurels: he's too busy dreaming up new ways to shock and delight audiences.

In the mid-90’s, Ferrer was crafting techno records as Morph and then had success in the Afro and gospel house scenes with releases via his Sfere label, an imprint he began alongside Kerri Chandler. But it's this past work that gives his new productions such resonance: unlike many of this house peers, Ferrer's techno experience has given him an edge that you can hear in his recent work.

Ferrer has brought his ‘anything goes’ approach to his label, Objektivity.  Celebrating its 8th anniversary in 2014, the imprint has thus far focused itself on vocals, featuring often unlikely turns from indie heroes like Ane Brun and Télépopmusik. Low slung and deep, Objektivity is a cutting-edge label in touch with its time, putting a uniquely American spin on the deep house revival that is currently making waves in Europe. Objektivity is a living, breathing thing - one that's set to drop bombs on the dance floor for years to come.

While Ferrer closes out 2013 with “Mind Ur Step” (Defected), “Mind Ur Dub” (Objektivity) and a remix of Coyu - “Salvation” (Noir Music), the best is yet to come. With a deep knowledge of the past and a constant push for the future, Ferrer remains one of the true greats of house music - a leader and innovator whose enjoying the buzz around him but keeping on pushing the limits. For over two decades, Sophie Lloyd has earned her stripes on the global dance music scene by producing tracks and performing DJ sets that appeal to both music industry tastemakers and dance music fans alike.
