Opening set on the White Stag main stage for AUM NYE Festival, 1 Jan 2022/23. A bass journey, simmering along with silky, smoky 140s, slinking on thru to a lil cheeky hiphop, a dollop of dub, a bitta jungle and up to liquid drum n bass. Cruising through a sunny afternoon on 1st Jan to begin the Bass music day/night at AUM. Hope it helped y'all start your year right!

Thank you AUM for the beautiful opportunity! I loved playing this set, I felt so grounded and peaceful.

Featuring vocals from local reggae superstar Israel Starr, London’s Lotek, Jamaica-direct Dexta Malawi, Caroline Agostini, Christina Roberts & His Majesty the King Kapisi... The Nomad’s arrangements span the dub, the trap, the grime, and the drum and the bass. The album contains 14 diverse tracks, spanning most genres of the sub-bass spectrum. The result sounds fresh, though definitely constructed by somebody with over two decades of production experience, seven album releases, and hundreds of gigs to his name.
The Nomad makes music that pushes the boundaries and combines a unique blend of reggae, dubstep, drum & bass and electronica. For Daimon Schwalger aka The Nomad, the wandering existence has been all about building strong connections with people and places. He shares the story of his journey through the creation and celebration of independent music.
“7” the album is released independently on the 7th of July 2014 via The Nomad Music, with three singles & three videos dropping May, June, and July 2014 respectively. The Nomad will be touring New Zealand throughout August & September.

Here's a deep n' dirty tech house set I threw down at Root Stage on the mighty 40Hz Soundsystem, in my favourite foresty disco at the annual Solstice Gathering (aka the festival formerly known as OM). 

A lot of care went into the selection of these songs. This is probably my favourite place in the world to play because of the warm, conscious, family-friendly, community, outdoor vibes.  A lot of love goes into the production of this event, and it shows.

Mister Twister started collecting vinyl and dj-ing in 1993. Originally a Hip Hop-Head, his love for music led him to venture into different musical fields and tempos within all things Breakbeat & basslines, eventually being bitten by the Drum&Bass bug in the early 2000s. Together with his brother Simstah he released a varied palette of tracks as Konfront.Audio on different labels such as Fokuz or Soul Deep to name but a few, whilst DJing at major Swiss events. 
In 2018 his old love for a more chilled out, more headnod sound got him back to experiment in the studio and on the turntables to get back the vibes that got him onto this in the first place. In this special edition he‘s showcasing a wide spread selection of current favorites. From downbeat and hip hop to electronica and soul.

The Nomad bio 2023

After a quarter century of pushing boundaries and frequencies Daimon Schwalger, aka The Nomad, firmly fits the bill as a pioneer of the electronica music scene in Aotearoa New Zealand. Since his first album release ‘Movement’ in 1998, he has gone on to release nine full length albums, remix albums and various singles while working with some of music’s leading talents.

“The nomadic traveller working on beats all day” has compiled an impressive body of work, which features collaborations with many different artists and musicians from New Zealand, Australia, UK and Jamaica.
Artists include Barnaby Weir (Black Seeds), MC Antsman (The Nomad/Rhombus), Tehimana Kerr (Fat Freddy’s Drop), Pearl Runga, Tiki Taane, Opiuo, King Kapisi, Farda P (Rockers HiFi), Luciano, Lisa Tomlins, Oakley Grenell (O.G.), Pepsi (Wham), Ras Stone, Tim Budgen (WarpTV) and many more.

This year 2023 saw the release of The Nomad’s finest work – Infinite, double album release, featuring 16 hand-picked tracks celebrating twenty-five years of his musical journey. This retrospective anthology maps the progression of Aotearoa’s electronic music scene, with many then-emerging artists now firmly established stars.

Nomadic by name and nature, The Nomad has clocked up the miles from the early days in Dunedin
and Christchurch, featuring at the infamous The Gathering festivals, maturing as a musician and father, through to his more recent success as a videographer based in Westport, capturing the beauty of Aotearoa’s West Coast. This is all part of the rich textures that make The Nomad a unique ‘life form’.
