Zero T, a pivotal figure in the drum & bass scene for over two decades, unveils his latest endeavour, the "Journey Begins EP", on V Recordings. His career launched with early releases around the turn of the century on legendary labels such as Bassbin and Reinforced Records, setting the stage for a prolific journey through the genre. Over the years, Zero T's discography has flourished with releases on major labels like Metalheadz, Shogun Audio, and The North Quarter, showcasing his broad musical range and steadfast dedication to the craft.

2022 marked the release of his innovative LP, "Kilburn", a collaboration with blind jazz pianist Andre Louis (Onj), exemplifying his skill in merging drum & bass with intricate musical elements. The "Journey Begins EP" continues this narrative, featuring collaborations with V Recordings' very own L-Side, the iconic MC GQ, and a reunion with Onj. This melding of talents underlines Zero T's unique position at the crossroads of classic and contemporary drum & bass sounds, with tracks that are energetic enough for any dance floor, alongside deeper moments that transcend the dance floor.

This is not his first outing on V Recordings, having previously released solo tracks and collaborations on V and Liquid V. However, this new release marks his first solo EP on the label, celebrating Zero T's enduring impact, his musical influences, and continuous innovation within Drum & Bass.

Irish Drum & Bass veteran Zero T returns to Amsterdam imprint The North Quarter with his “Former Self EP”. Following up from his ambitious multi-genre project “Baby Grand”, Zero T now strips things down to a focused five-track project that manoeuvres through a broad range of styles within Drum & Bass. From his Soulful reinterpretation of Mango x MathMan's “Lonely Night” to the dubbed out weight of “Clash” - with Bristol-based rising producer Myth - this is a well balanced EP that displays Zero T's expansive vision and is a testimony to his growth as a producer and technician.

"I had a number of aims with my second EP for The North Quarter” Zero T explains. “While my first release 'Baby Grand' was an opportunity to explore working in different styles of music and utilising live instrumentation, I wanted this second release to be stripped back to basics: five Drum & Bass tracks that cover the spectrum of what I like within this music. There's two vocal tunes in the classic 'Liquid' style, one tune that could easily be described as Jump Up, a Dub/Jungle influenced track with Myth and finally what I would call a “listening track"; something not necessarily designed for DJs/clubs. If someone wants to know what I stand for, then this release says it all."

Phaction - Deus Ex

Introducing Nixon, a producer out of Bristol. Strictly Deep DNB are excited to present his debut release on the label, with his ep 'F*CK SEAGULLS'.

'Drumgle' kicks off the EP - a weighty stepper with drumwork that gives a subtle nod to the old-school alongside atmospheric pad work and a bassline that lingers at the front and won't leave you alone (and just quietly, we don't want it to!). Secondly the dark gritty roller 'F*CK Seagulls' is up. We don't know what a seagull has ever done to Nixon, but his hate for them is perfectly captured in this tune. Lastly, we have 'New Era' - Nixon turns to the deeper side with this smooth roller, but don't be fooled, the crunchy bassline and tingly percussion gels it all together to make this one a prime target for the dancefloor. Definitely a great piece of kit for any DJ's arsenal.
