Before Theo joins us in room 2 this Friday, he has kindly provided a stellar mix for our CKFM series. 

Growing up between Scotland and Greece he's since held down residencies with Edinburgh’s Cab Vol & Glasgow's Sub Club and has steadily become one of the country’s hottest musical exports. 

He has released music on labels such as Permanent Vacation, DGTL & Shall Not Fade. Alongside his musical career, Theo has established himself as a promoter and label founder with Beautiful Strangers. Started in 2018, the label, distributed by !K7 Records has reached over 1m streams. His parties are gaining momentum too, welcoming artists such as KiNK, Ryan Elliott, Saoirse, Optimo, Move D & Kerri Chandler and running a yearly event during Off Sonar in Barcelona.

He’s received recognition from the likes of BBC Radio 1 (Hottest Record In The World) and featured on the Boiler Room, DGTL & Circoloco mix series.

Not only is @theokottis joining our podcast series this week, but early next month he will join the label family too. His new Lighthouse EP is a perfect encapsulation of the Scotsman's style - house, techno and electro fusions with a knowing nod to the 90s and plenty of both physical and emotional impact. It's his first work since a "self-imposed creative reset" and comes after previous outings on the likes of Permanent Vacation and DGTL that have established the Space Dust label and party founder as someone who is as effective as he is unpretentious whether making or playing records.

His mix for us is inspired by recent gigs and is made up of tracks that were particularly well-received by the crowds. It's two hours of slick selections cross the house, techno and electro spectrum so, says Theo, "there's something for everyone to dance their way into 2024." And he's not wrong: this is exactly the sort of impossibly groovy soundtrack you want to warm you up and get you going with just the right balance between head and heel.
