Next up our Origins Tapes series is musician, producer, DJ and label owner Priori who is best known for their beautiful cross-over tracks and mixes and their label NAFF that they run with fellow artist Ex-Terrestial. 

Based and born Quebec and currently based in Montréal , Priori represents the Canadian dance music scene worldwide through both their individual output and their label’s. They have also become known for their technical ability in the studio which has led to them mixing projects for fellow artists such as Rosa Terence, Ex-terrestrial and Gene Tellem.

Priori’s hypnotic soundscapes have meant that they have the ability to create worlds around their audience with both their live shows, live DJ sets and online mixes and we are excited to be welcoming them for our Origins Tapes series.

Origins Tapes 015 - Priori

"Pavlovabar was one of the most memorable and best gigs of my life! I hadn't been out much in Sydney before so wasn't 100% sure what to expect, but I'd heard from a few friends that Pavs was the spot. I was super excited to be given the trust and freedom to play all night long, I really do love to play long sets with the time to explore a wide range of genres and vibes throughout the night. To my surprise people started showing up quite early and the place was already packed around 1am! The crowd was a beautiful and colourful mix of people from all ages and backgrounds! It was so nice to see. I remember that night it was bloody hot and the aircon wasn't working so people were getting completely naked. The heat kind of added to the mania and people were really pushing me to play harder and crazier. I really loved the give and take of energy and by the end I felt we had all been through something together. 

This mix is a lot more chill than what I played that night, but I do remember playing a lot of Australian stuff. Things from Hymns, Reptant, Logic1000 and others so I tried to play as many Australian and especially Sydney artists as I could. Thanks for having me, hope you enjoy :) " - @katemiller

Hervé, aka Super Ons, co-founder of Amsterdam based electronic music label Polychrome Audio, and one half of Noord Loop, is one of the earliest and closest friends of RPU. Today, he takes us on a new musical journey, moving his audience from his playground, the dancefloor, to the new frontier of a relaxed and joyful state of mind, through a mix of ambient, jazz and soul tunes. It made all the sense in the world to give him the keys to the Sunday Sedatives vault and we're thrilled to finally share this regenerative piece with our community.

@superons is before all an artist who lives and breathes music. Finding his roots in Hip-hop and RnB and constantly exploring new sounds and horizons, he thrives in building bridges between genres to revive memories, and create new ones.

Followers of the prestigious Trushmix series might noticed the name before while it remaines criminally overlooked by too many. underground music community in Hanoi have been instrumental in its growth and

Mix #290 in our series comes from Seattle dj & producer, Flora FM.

Flora FM is a project from Taylor Hawkins, rooted in strong and emotive melodies, lush ambiance, and playful rhythms - drawing from dusty rave records, the lush greenery of the Pacific Northwest, and the quick-mix DJ styles of the Midwest.

Flora FM has previously released on labels such as Kalahari Oyster Cult, Argot and most recently, Exotic Robotic. 

This mix was recorded live at The Lodge, Seattle. The Lodge is a weekend long party in an abandoned ski lodge in the mountains outside of Seattle.
