Three is the magic number and continues the Connection Lost series by @massimilianopagliara on Uncanny Valley. The series is a highly emotional project for the masterful Italian DJ and producer with music that is deeply inspired by thoughts on how to cope, once the connection with loved ones is cut. As wide as the feelings and emotions in those situations are, as varied is the sound palette with tracks between Acid, House, Disco and Downbeat. 

There’s also continuity in the visual aspects, as Alexander Dorn aka Credit 00 again created the artwork for the third part of the series in line with the two predecessors.
 
The record opens with the technoid UNFETTERED and indeed the spirit in Massi's machines is completely unleashed as the track gradually layers alarming and mysterious pads over an unstoppable acid line and uncompromising drum work. FORGOTTEN SECRETS can be read as a nod to the title track of the first Connection Lost EP but is primarily an ever-building smasher that will make waves on every dance floor from major festivals to the carpet next to your couch. 

Then there is IRIDESCENT SOLITUDE, which comes with a warm discoid feel and is a pitch perfect example of why Massi has a knack for surrounding powerful bass lines with a setup of beautiful melodies and instruments. Just listen to this guitar played by Jules Etienne. Finally comes EMPTY ROOM, which is carried by a sleazy hip-hop beat while keeping a very relaxed pace. It feels like the musical equivalent of looking at the stars, where you discover shooting star-like sounds again and again.

Šią savaitę šokėjus savaitgaliui ruošia spalvinga asmenybė, pasislėpusi po slapyvardžiu JAROŠKA. Atlikėjas muzikiniame pasaulyje pirmuosius žingsnius žengė 2012-taisiais, kuomet pažindinosi su kompozicija, o 2014-taisiais kibo į ilgametę draugystę su DJ pulto mygtukais. Atlikėjas tikina, jog muzika buvo jo vaistas nuo skausmo, apie tai atviravo ir LRT mediatekoje esančiame interviu "Švelnūs Tardymai. Didžėjus Deividas Jaroška", skaudūs išgyvenimai taip pat padėjo atrasti ir pamilti elektroninės muzikos skambesių pripildytą sceną. Žingsnis po žingsnio ir 2016-taisiais JAROŠKA pasileido į šokėjų širdžių užkariavimo misiją festivalyje "Funikulierius" ir legendiniame "Yucatan extensión". Atlikėjas tikina, kad pastarieji metai atnešė įsimintiniausius renginius jo karjeroje - festivalį "Yaga Gathering" su psychodelikos kupinu sekmadienio rytmečiu ir klubo Kablys renginių seriją "Monomania", kurios metu JAROŠKA buryje draugų ir nuotaikingų šokėjų keliavo nuo house ir experimental club iki hard techno garsų, o naktį užbaigė Cream Soda neišleistu šlageriu. JAROŠKA nesivaiko etikečių - groja tai, kas miela širdžiai ir sukuria gerą vaibą vakarėlio dalyviams. Susipažink dabar - išgirsk gyvai vasario 25 dieną klube Elastica.

Mexico’s leading underground label Duro Records is back with another brilliant EP, this time from Mijo, who serves up a fine original that comes with remixes by Paulor, D.Y.O.R., The Chica and Moisees.

Mijo is a multi-instrumentalist with a raw sound that mixes up tech, disco, house and analogue synths. He releases on Her Majesty's Ship, Sanfuentes Records and Correspondant and impresses with the refreshing ‘THXTASY’ here. It’s a perfectly warped, heavy tune with fleshy bass and trippy synths that are driven by punchy kicks. A big vocal will get hands in the air and the whole thing oozes late night menace.

Fellow Mexican Paulor from the likes of the Your and Your Hippie Friends label then excellently remixes the track into something brilliantly dark and cosmic. The drums hit hard and there is a real rock angst in the stabs. D.Y.O.R is a soulful, jacking and deep house proponent from the Netherlands who flips the track into something more elastic and house in nature, but with acid lines and chattery, Chicago-esque percussion.

Next The Chica steps up with two terrific versions. The first is a slamming techno cut with whirring machines and flat, forceful drums and the second is a fist pumping, turbo charged old school house version with raves stabs. Both will do real damage on the ‘floor.

Last but not least is Duro co-founder Moisees, the man behind last year’s superb ‘Train Station Philosophy’ release. His vision of ‘THXTASY’ is one of corrugated funk, macho disco grooves and stuff hits that make you jerk your body.

These are dynamite tracks designed for carefully considered denotation of any dance floor.

The DJs Pareja have been flagging they’re a DJ duo in love long before the recent trend. ‘Pareja’ literally translates as ‘couple’, and that is just how Diego and Mariano do life; in tandem.

It may not seem so radical these days, but the Pareja’s have been unapologetically queer trailblazers in their hometown of Buenos Aires, Argentina - throwing raves and putting out pop dance records for decades. It took us years to get these boys to come play for us in San Francisco, but when they finally did, minutes off the plane we were hugging and shedding a little tear in front of the Castro theatre sign.

I always knew that one day we would get them on the label, and this EP is a product of how far this new gay techno underground has come. So it is with great pleasure we present 4 tracks produced south of the Equator, mixed for the gods, with some signature vocals and some sounds we’ve never heard from these Argy boys sleeping in a Queen bed.

Super Paolo is back on his Disco Milk Records label with a cosmic, electro-infused single entitled ‘In Your Shadow’ including a remix from Italian producer Andy Bros. Super Paolo continues to embody his reputation of building tracks from scratch whilst harmonising everything together using a collection of live instruments. Paolo founded his Disco Milk imprint in 2006 and with every release he continues to explore into the realms of disco, electro, house and funk brought together under one roof previously supported by the likes of The Black Madonna, Justin Cudmore, Jacques Renault, Eclair Fifi and more. ‘In Your Shadow’ sees Paolo invite a remix from Italy’s Andy Bros which picked up plays from Adam Port, Solomun and Blackbox and Jamie Jones on Pete Tong’s History of House episode on BBC Radio 1 ‘In Your Shadow’ begins with zappy synth shoots, revolving electro flavours and infectious vocals keeping eccentric energy flowing until Andy Bros who has previous releases on Diynamic, Chapter 23, FFRR and more rounds off the pack with a chuggy, italo-disco remix of ‘In Your Shadow’ laying focus on cosmic oscillations, otherworldly atmospheres and uplifting, swirling melodies peppered with undulating euphoria.
