‘JAC’ is a collaborative release by Shanghai based Gooooose and Berlin based DJ Scotch Egg. After meeting for the first time at Nyege Nyege Festival, Uganda, in 2019, SVBKVLT brought Scotch Egg to Shanghai for a one week studio session with Gooooose in Jan 2020, just a couple of weeks before Covid-19 took hold. The result is JAC, a 6 track release, including a track with vocal samples from Swordman Kitala, recorded by Scotch Egg during his residency at the Nyege villa, plus remixes from Slikback and Seven Orbits & TSVI, with artwork by Andy Rolfes and design by Luke Griffiths. Very dengrouse!!

Based in London, Jex Wang is a photographer, writer and member of the collective music platform and label, Eastern Margins. Chinese-Australian Jex has lived all over Europe before landing in London where they discovered Eastern Margins via Instagram. As a collective, Eastern Margins seek to create visibility for East and South-East Asian bodies in the music industry. Through monthly events pre-covid they gave safe space to the community and now through their NTS show and Twitch channel, they give platform to East and South-East Asian artists.
Always full of surprises, this mix is a chaotic joy-ride; the best kind. High energy, zig-zaggy, spine-creeping tunes and transitions, strap yourself in, it’s Jex Wang in the mix.

Lithuanian producer Mantas Povilaika (aka DJ JM) is the latest artist to release on the consistently excellent Goon Club Allstars, following the massive 'Sensei' EP by UK funky queen KG. The producer has previously dropped EPs on Nervous Horizon (with 'No Days Off') and Even The Strong, and his most recently offering finds him approaching the club in a more uplifting manner than his previous, darker output suggested. 'XD Remix', which we're premiering below, uses utilitarian hard drum patterns with skittering rave interludes and hands-in-the-air chords. “'XD' and 'XD Remix' are the euphoric rave tracks which are supposed to be in sync with the club lights when they go from dark to bright or... in sync with waking up early in an excellent mood!,” DJ JM says. "It’s “more positive, more bright, more fun”. The EP is out later this month, and arrives with an Angel D'Lite remix for added rave goodness.
