Most of these tracks were made using extreme low budget equipment, like free softsynths, 2nd-hand digital synths, cheapskate cables, or even Music 2000 running on a Playstation 1.

I remember back in the early 90s roaming one of the local rave clubs here in Devon. It was either at the Plymouth Warehouse(south west Devon), or otherwise Club Kaos in Barnstaple(north Devon). As usual, it was a busy night, and as you'd expect, it was always difficult finding a free spot on the dancefloor. Especially a free spot that was spacious; which is how i preferred my dancing. Space is typically a luxurious privilege on a small planet with an overpopulation, with towns, cities, buildings and industry smothering the skyline everywhere. Yet you need space in your life: space to think, space to relax, space to express yourself correctly, space to make plans for the future.
Anyhow, after stumbling through the condensed crowd i finally found myself a free spot, where i had enough space to dance correctly, and wave my arms around with wild abandonment. However there was one small problem with this space..... for some strange reason there were several patches of bubblegum stuck to the dancefloor. Not perturbed by this sticky calamity, i began stomping my feet up and down to the beat directly on top of the bubblegum patch. At first it was hard going as the bubblegum seemed to stick to my shoe soles everytime i lifted up my feet. And before long i started regretting my decision somewhat; surely i hadn't roamed freely, only to get stuck to the same spot. But just as my spirits became overburdened by an undercurrent of humdrum repetition, the bubblegum started to disintegrate into nothingness. I'd eventually stomped that sticky situation back into free space.

I was tempted to give this track the subtitle: "Whilst the Conservatives take the piss", because it certainly feels like the Conservatives and the rich(and the Conservative party is the party of the rich) are taking the piss. They're talking about another recession, and a new round of austerity, whilst the poor people of this country never even left the last round of austerity(when government decided to bail out the thieving banksters).
Just remember that it's actually theft. The super-rich don't have our permission to allocate billions of pounds to themselves, and the wealth of this planet is owned by everybody, not them. So essentially it's theft; just like offshore tax-havens. Tax-havens are a form of legalised criminality, they have essentially legalised theft.

Procuring the breadcrumbs (Conjoined Clavierchord Mix)

The metaphor "Bruised Pockets" was a phrase i would sometimes hear as a child growing up in the 80s. It was a quick method to describe that your wages were too compressed, and your finances were consequently hurting. A phrase spoken by men who were always buying family members drinks, birthday cards, christmas cards, presents, not to mention a round of pints at the local pub, or a whole host of other financial outlets expected from an 80s gentleman.
It also slightly came from the routine sound of coinage jangling away in peoples' pockets as they traversed the local town centre. These were the days before debit/credit cards were the norm, hence everybody carried an amount of coinage on them as you'd need it for everything, everywhere. You could also purchase just about anything for under a pound too. Bag of lose Carrots for 10p, bag of lose apples for 15p, a daily newspaper for 16p. Sandwiches, a burger, or even a pint of beer, all under a pound. 
Indeed, coinage was used so frequently that some gentlemen would make it a habit of filling up their trousers, with just the right amount of coinage to produce a special sort of musical jingle-jangle which emanated from their pockets. Though the reverse tactic could also be utilized: some men would carry very few coins to produce a dullish lacklustre jangle, to ward off the women. Whilst other men perhaps looking to entice the women would carry enough coinage to produce a pleasant music-box styled repetition. In fact, for some men it was a matter of prestige to fill their pockets with enough coinage to attract a woman through a hypnotic, repetitive, jingle-jangle of wealth. On at least one occasion i remember a rather jovial jingle-jangle stroll past me through the town centre, only to then hear the phrase emanated from the mouth of a nearby young woman, "Right..... i'm going to bruise his pockets", before she started walking in pursuit.

Bruised Pockets

The Spider pictured is a British Wasp Spider, one of the larger Spiders you could possibly encounter whilst travelling around the Devonshire countryside. They don't just eat Wasps, but will also eat Bees, Beetles, Butterflies and Wood Ants. Watching a Wasp Spider swing from it's Web to grab a Wood Ant is a joyous sight to behold(i've been bitten by Wood Ants plenty of times). Wasp Spiders dangle down, grab the Ant, encase it within silk thread, then leave it hanging somewhere to consume later in the day, and all within around 3 and a half seconds flat. After watching the amount of grief a squad of Wood Ants can inflict upon just about any other type of insect it's satisfying to see at least one wild species pick-off Ants with as much ease as a human would flick a nut inside their mouth.

Swinging from Web to Web

When i was younger i had a deep fear of large Spiders, even small Spiders were seen as nothing but "creepy". These days small Spiders have turned from "creepy" to "cute", and i've also learned a deep respect for larger arachnids having both watched and photographed them in the wild. They excel as predators, weave webs like magic spells, and are just as motherly as some mammals. If you're lucky maybe one day you'll get to see a Spider watching guard over her egg clutch on the outskirts of a patch of woodland. Or perhaps even better, bearing witness to a Spider carrying it's newly hatched young on it's back, as it travels towards a new hunting ground.

Recorded during a rather dismal july 2023. The British summer was an absolute washout. At least i had some Lemonade to cheer me up. 

I actually spent around 4 to 5 weeks on this track, most of which was spent on microscopic timing increments on the individual midi notes(changing the volume, note length, or timing placement to 1 thousandth of a second). The rest of the time was spent on midi modulation to get all sounds to integrate correctly. 
I'd deliberately left the loop "loose" on it's initial pasting, with the assumption it wouldn't take too long smoothing out any timing discrepancies as i changed/modified the individual notes along the track. The impetus was to have a track which was in perfect timing, but to keep the notes completely unquantized, in order to give a more lively/swingy feel overall. I think the track has this; but i didn't realize when pasting the original loop that i'd then be spending several weeks microscopically hand-tweaking every single midi note along the track(to the point of sadism). 

Anyone who's extensively used a sequencer timing-bar will understand the pain of hand-tweaking over a thousand individual notes. An absolute nightmare to produce. I must never repeat the creative process of this track.

Farmer Freakeasy in no way, shape, or form, indorses the entrapment of living animals for the advancement of scientific study. Though the entrapment of Mutants is another story altogether.

100% produced with a Novation Supernova. Sequenced via midi through Ableton Live 5, and running on a Windows XP computer. 
Mutations was recorded in 8 days during september, then tweaked and underlayed with extra channels in october, 2023. No animals were harmed throughout the production process. Though several mutant strains did try self-replicating, transmuting, or escaping during the Tour. Thankfully any contagious elements were securely contained inside the F.A.R.T.A compound.

FREE downloads are currently turned off here on Soundcloud because the downloaded files are not 100% identical to the uploaded file; which is how it's supposed to be. The downloaded files were 97.5% accurate but with a duller, more plasticized, less sparkly sound. Almost like the higher frequencies had been chopped off somehow. I don't know if this is deliberate sabotage or not(i'm currently looking at other platform options).
