Standard Deviation's music focuses on detailed Sound Design and Original Composition, creating Dark and Moody tracks, utilizing evolving digital synthesizers and analog hardware for distinctive sounds. They focuses on storytelling through music, often inspired by fictional narratives which drive their music creation process. 

Their tracks often find inspiration from artists such as: Lorn, Baths, Beach House, Brand New, Explosions In The Sky. They also collaborate with artists from the Somnus Arts group such as: Rudi Wilkin and Alined.

Standard Deviation's name indicates a desire to move away from the characteristics that define genres, blurring the lines between all sources of inspiration.

Hello my dear friends. I seek and love music that gives me goosebumps.  I 'm looking for it through experiments with rhythms, sounds and harmony.  So far I haven't succeeded yet.  Music is my life. I’m Fred, 70 years, born in Diest, Belgium on August 8, 1954.  I am grateful for all the given likes and comments, for all the listeners and followers here on SC or on all the other streaming services where my music is publiced. Greek-speaking Romans often used the Greek term saturos when referring to the Latin faunus, and eventually syncretized the two. (The female "Satyresses" were a later invention of poets.)
With the characters A and T, my initials, stops every similarity between this description and myself.

I am a composer.   I use Logic Pro to compose with.  For the most part I play all the instruments but have had vocal help from others and my daughter.  Also on my older pieces the bass playing of Dana Flavin.  I also use snippets of whatever I can find to add messages and effects my pieces as well.   It is not intended that the listener of my music simply listens, but to listen hard.

A lot of my work features the bass playing of Dana Flavin.  To this day I am recording but sometimes will post a mix of old work.  So this is where to find my work!   Enjoy.
