Hailing from Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia, Jezzy Micheals was a late starter when it came to playing music. Having been a huge KISS fan for many years, he finally picked up a bass guitar at around 17 years of age, wanting to emulate to at least some small degree, his boyhood hero, Gene Simmons, he of the long tongue and blood spitting theatrics. Aside 
from the bombastic stage shows and outlandish face paint, it was the songs that drew Jezzy in to the world of KISS and then a wider selection of bands with similar sounds. The hair metal glam rock phenomenon of the mid eighties to the early nineties further entrenched him into a lifelong love affair with rock music.  His first band, Out of Season, was a hard rock quartet playing a mixture of classic rock and 90s grunge with a sprinkling of original tunes thrown in for good measure. Out of Season lasted several years playing nightclubs and various outdoor festivals and private parties, also tasting success in 2 Battle of the Bands competitions in their hometown of Darwin which led to the  recording of a 3 song EP of original songs. Eventually life got in the way of any further progress for the group.  Jezzy would play in several more bands in and around Brisbane, including the infamous sleaze rock outfit, Wretchid Child. He would eventually move to Texas in the USA where he recently became a natralized citizen.  He has written, recorded and released 2 full length albums in the past few years and continues to work on a 3rd LP, while also providing the bass duties for the internet group, The iBand, a collection of extrememly talented musicians from all around the worlld.

The Flenser is a dark music label from San Francisco. We have released records by bands such as Have a Nice Life,  Botanist, Bosse-de-Nage, and Planning For Burial.
