Cars of grey is a project inspired by the PCM, the love of making music and my PRS guitar.
over the last 6 months i have been using Cubase 5 to record, a line 6 tone port UX2 and my prs to make these songs.
alot of them are riffs that i've been jammin out over the last 10 years and have now brought them together into song format or instumental.
i have tought my self to play guitar and to use
cubase 5 program these songs are just demos, i just want to play.....!!


The future is bright for The Southwicks, an indie/folk six-piece from Perth's eastern suburbs. The group have spent the best part of the last two years flooding Perth's stages with their raw energy and soaring vocals. The Southwicks aim to create music which inspires a yearning for adventure in even the most content of souls, with their textured layers and lyrics which sound beyond their years.

The idea behind The Southwicks began in late 2011, when aspiring songwriter Joshua Goodacre and high school friend Gareth Peach began writing music together. They soon realised that the songs they had crafted required a larger ensemble to carry their vision of creating a wall of sound in their performance. After a few initial changes in lineup, the band soon grew to be a six piece who collectively play nine instruments (including the violin and glockenspiel) as well as their voices. Together they create a sound that is often compared to the likes of Arcade Fire and Boy & Bear, with songs varying in style from gorgeous folk ballads to danceable pop tunes to grungey anthems.

The Southwicks are now set to release their long awaited debut EP 'Euphoria', recorded in mid 2013 at Poonshead Studio. The feeling of finally being able to share these much anticipated recordings is nothing short of euphoric.

My name is Ashley Carr and i've been producing, composing, living and breathing music for the best part of 12 years.

After playing with early trackers and progressing to fruityloops, I discovered Propellerhead Software's Rebirth, and later Reason, which I have been using as a primary method of extracting ideas from my brain since 2002. I also use a variety of hardware, keyboards and instruments, as well as other software like Protools, NI, Arturia Plugs, Sibelius.

I always hated the idea of composing in one style or genre, and so my music has always been an eclectic mish mash of different ideas as they fly around in my head. Music has always been fun for me, and I try not to take anything too seriously, you can usually catch me jamming in front of something, laughing my ass off with a big grin on my face. That's when im the most productive! Haha!

I'm always incredibly grateful to anyone who takes the time to write a comment, guestbook message, or facebook post. I've been really lucky with a great bunch of people who seem to like what I do for some reason. :)
