During his 15+ years as an artist, Lorenz has evolved his musical niche into a custom blend of his most favorable influences. His music has quickly caught the attention of the underground’s most revered imprints, with tracks now sitting comfortably on labels such as  Defected, House of Disco Records, Heist, Dirt Crew and Compost. His latest, Le Noir EP, lands on 10 Questions and explores the depths of ‘80s inspired Italo Disco (with a contemporary twist) over the course of three flawlessly cohesive tracks.

Whilst his renowned reputation was built off an undeniable enthusiasm for synths and production. Today, Lorenz puts down the keys and enters the booth for 60 minutes of seamless Nu Disco mixing. Fiercely funky and daringly deep, expect to hear tracks from the likes of Ian Pooley, Austin Ato, Purple Disco Machine, Session Victim and more.

~ Nico Lahs [Italy] ~

Nicola Loporchio a.k.a. simply Nico Lahs is an accomplished and voracious producer from South Italy, who has been comfortably killing the game for more than 10 years now. Thankfully inheriting from his father’s musician background, which encompassed jazz, hip-hop and anything from Chicago, Detroit and New York, his signature sound naturally headed towards unadulterated deep house-centric jams combined with soulful grooves and atmospheric dreamy vibes. His first musical rise started in 2010 as it didn’t take very long for some respected labels such as Ovum (Josh Wink) and Poker Flat (Steve Bug) to notice him.  Until 2015, he was going on a European club crawl, distilling his house magic in the most prestigious venues like Club de Visionare, Tresor or Rex Club. The following 5 years marked a break from the ‘Nico Lahs’ project as he has been focusing on developing his other Cosmic Garden alias and his vinyl-only-related label Cosmic Rhythm. The past 2 years showed his long-awaited come back with his stately Detroit-influenced LP “Freedom” and his splendid disco edits in collaboration with Chez Damier, both on Pekin-based label Adeen Records.

The special mixtape he is serving up today for us features lots of delicious unreleased tracks from himself and his various side projects such as NLXLB. It merely breathes and exudes house music in its purest form with deep and raw notes. Close your eyes and enjoy.

Barcelona-based and ramen lover Baldo, also known under the moniker of BLD, is easily one of Spain’s most respected undergound talents and a fervent contributor to the local eletronic music scene. First influenced by UK Breakbeat from the 90s, he started his musical house career more than 10 years ago and has now been establishing himself as a luscious selector and producer, digging deep and raw house vibes covered with subtle acid touches. Consequently, most of his productions have been warmly welcomed by high-visibility labels such as Running Back, Step Recordings or Let’s Play House. Besides, he has also been running countless high-potential projects such as Neovinyl, Subwax Distribution, Physical Education, BLD Tape Recordings or Curated by Time. Longtime resident of the famous Razzmatazz club and regular guest at Spain’s top festivals (Sonar, DGTL), expect him to be finely captivating the crowd along the likes of Move D, Gerd Janson or Jeremy Underground. Although the global pandemic stopped him a bit in his tracks, he is now fully back on the scene for the enjoyment of everyone.

Baldo has channeled his focus on recording a genuine and meaningful house set, gathering tracks from Rob Pearson, Paramida or Juan Atkins. After playing it a few times, you will have the feeling the cold winter nights are already behind you!

~ Marc Brauner [Germany] ~

The Berliner Marc Brauner has been positively shaking the house music scene over the past years with releases on excellent labels such as Shall Not Fade or Houseum Records. Kicking off his stuttering musical career playing drums at the age of 5 and practicing in a percussion band for 8 years, he discovered the house music territory back in 2009. As a producer, Marc finds his anchor point into classic, melodic and captivating deep house with a tad of fulminating breakbeat notes. He is always going off the beaten tracks: from producing jams for luxury brands like Jil Sander or L’Oreal to co-founding the live acid and tech house project Traffic Report, by way of co-creating the collective “We Change The Weather“ that organized gigs in Bremen. In 2019, the release of his well-known “Sad But Amibitious” EP on the Houseum channel has fast-tracked his career and, the year after, he was lauching his own deep house label Nostalgics together with the man Tender Games. All those projects proved his musical variety and beautifully cross-fertilized, resulting in Marc being heavily featured lately in Berlin as well as across other European cities in renowned clubs like Rex, Wilde Renate or Sisyphos.

As expected from him, he has concocted for us a pumping hour of house, deep house and acid grooves from Cinthie, no_4mat or Chriss Stussy. This is the perfect treat to get in the mood before the reopening of clubs in lots of countries next week.

Dan a.k.a. Lemin is part of this generation of UK-based underground producers and promising young talents who aims to create an emotional journey through house music. If you haven’t heard them yet, his house edits and remixes have always been litteraly hitting the right spot for the past 4 years. Making his debuts masterfully reworking tracks from the likes of Shinichiro Yokota, Liem or Jorja Smith has paving the way for a high-potential musical career path. Navigating between melodic beats, raw deep house jams and riveting lo-fi grooves, his true vision of house music unveils a bit more each time you listen to his tracks. For now, he’s holding a great monthly residency on Project Radio. Fun fact: you can regularly catch him play in the UK with some plastic/vibes past guests such as PADDY and Swales.
