XPLORE 002 with Andrømeda and special guest Claus Fuss. 

Based in London, Claus Fuss is a classically trained musician, composer and techno producer, who has been developing his own approach to minimal music.  In 2017, his solo debut on Khemia Records “Static Ace” was released on vinyl as a split EP with Broken English Club gaining recognition for its pristine cardio bleeps and rave hypnosis. In 2019, he co-founded the duo Lander, a collaboration between himself and the other half of Years Of Denial, Jerome Tcherneyan. Their critically acclaimed debut EP was released in 2021 on Dutch electronic music label Crème Organization. Claus has also co-created and co-founded the live techno duo OneOneOne in collaboration with DJ Klose One. Described as  'Seven minute techno epics' and 'hard hitting clubbangers' their first release 'A' became something of an underground anthem followed by a second EP released on Dusky’s 17Steps records in 2020. Their most recent EP came out this March on Khemia Records including a video of their live performance released on HATE.

Hello and welcome back to The Poeticast, we are joined this week by an exciting talent from Holland as PHYC gifts us a fine mix of Peak Time Techno that characterises his full power style absolutely perfectly.

Heavily influenced by the underground vibe of Amsterdam, PHYC focuses on delivering a fast paced, groove laced techno.

PHYC is based in Amsterdam, a city that has most welcomed him throughout the years and were he feels truly at home. Ever learning and evolving from a scene that remains focused as the years go by, PHYC has appropriated the mixing style of fast and raw sounds into his sets to deliver energetic sets, that work not just the body but also the mind with sounds and atmospheres that challenge the perception of the listener.

Passing through clubs in London like Ministry of Sound, Aquarium and Rolling Stock the search for a harder and faster style with more groove and unexpected sounds has brought him to the Dutch capital. In Amsterdam, he played in Claire, 8sixA, John Doe and Club Atelier. Although the pandemic years brought some time for reflection and thought, the Portuguese DJ decided to join the Pineapple Project where he curated the project “The New Switcheroo” that brought a light to the techno music and its place in the world, through livestreaming in different locations across Portugal. Also playing in their illegal raves in the Noord as well as Club Atelier, a crew he feels most welcomed by and a part of the family.

He also created the UNNOTED podcast series that aims to shine a light on less known artists in Amsterdam and abroad, with an aim on more extended sets, peak time energy is the idea behind all guests sets.

Working on improving the production output, the studio has kept him busy on creating his own material and releases are a future that is much looked out for.
