Miami Music Week: THE most important gathering in dance music since time began. An essential sun-kissed calendar date for artists, industry influencers and enthusiasts alike... Whatever your genre persuasion, if you're serious about the dance then Miami welcomes with you open arms. David Beckham's not the only Brit taking over Miami this winter!

Ram Records have represented at this annual meeting of musical minds since day one. Cutting through dance music's ever-changing fads and flavours with their demonstrative D&B message, they have achieved a rock-solid standing as the most important drum & bass event there. With over a thousand parties happening throughout the event -- from VIP pool parties to the epic multi-arena beast Ultra -- Ram have worked hard to create this sterling reputation. 

This year will be no exception: the label have secured another session at Mekka. One of Downtown Miami's most desired venues, it will be home to RAMiami with a line-up that reads like a who's who in D&B: Andy C, Ed Rush & Optical, Wilkinson, Loadstar, Rene LaVice and Delta Heavy.

To celebrate, they've curated 'RAMiami 2014'. Just like their Mekka mission, it's an all-star cast that represents the broadest scope and most vibrant colour of drum & bass. It's yet another reminder of how extensive and timeless Ram's repertoire truly is.  

Showcasing drum & bass's unique melting pot with depth and clarity, every possible style can be enjoyed on 'RAMiami 2014': The spine-melting euphoria of Loadstar's 'BLVD'. The dreamy melodic textures of Culture Shock's 'Ohrwurm'. The grizzle-bass badness of Noisia's 'Façade VIP'. The ludicrous rudeness of Roni Size's 'Hotness' remix. The organic instrumentation of Sub Focus's 'Flamenco'. The savage steel drum  of Moving Fusion's 'Chilli Pepper'... The list goes on.

No Ram album is complete without exclusives, too. And amongst this explorative 16 track tale you'll find three next-level specials that are unavailable anywhere else. Recent Drum&BassArena Artist Of The Week Salaryman dusts his jazz piano and slinky double bass off for 'My Future'. Mob Tactics, meanwhile, deliver the dark and devious 'Joe Mangle'. Boasting multi-faceted bass textures and a switch-flipping dynamic on the drop, it's one of the duo's best tunes to date. The third exclusive comes from Bluescreens. Last spotted on Ram's 'RAMsterdam 2013' album, here we find them developing their full-throttle audio adventure 'Strike One' with a spectacular second part. Flexing a muscular bassline and raw, pummelling drums, it's a fittingly dramatic finale to yet another exciting, extensive Ram collection.

Currently celebrating one hundred releases with a set of EPs from label bosses Drumsound and Bassline Smith themselves, Technique Recordings has established itself as one of the finest labels in the drum and bass scene over the past decade. Scene legends like Roni Size, J Magik & Wickaman, Friction, DJ SS, Twisted Individual, Crissy Criss, Tantrum Desire, ShockOne and
Youngman have all graced this imprint, and you’ll consistently find the Technique name at the top of genre charts and smashing clubs worldwide. It’s no surprise that this label has assembled a sufficiently heavyweight back catalogue to fill a forty-three track LP with remastered classics and exclusive VIP selections.
Time for a Retrospective.
This album takes you in every direction, covering all wavelengths of the drum and bass spectrum. Drumsound and Bassline Smith, along with their alter-ego 2DB, provide an extensive selection of the tracklisting, backed up by their label’s current international soldiers and a selection of those heavy-hitters who’ve graced the imprint over the years.
So, in the midst of the bombardment from the label bosses, Tantrum Desire pop up with their big-room killers, Crissy Criss & Youngman drop in to grime things up a touch, and Dub Foundation flip things into half-step style. And, to show this is a truly worldwide movement, there are contributions from Ukraine’s MaxNRG, Slovakia’s L Plus, and a couple of combos hailing from down under, Skyver & D Jon and Spectrem & Spillage.
All this and choice cuts from Roni Size, DJ SS, Twisted Individual, Digital, J Majik & Wickaman, plus an appearance from TeeBee on remix duties. No wonder the Technique brand continues to raise its status.
Over the years, and their hundred releases, Drumsound and Bassline Smith’s Technique Recordings have proven themselves to be a monumental institution in the drum and bass scene. Every one of these tracks has graced raves and airwaves worldwide, and while this Retrospective is looking back at the classics, it also promises big things for the next Technique century.

Semi Sense - Fast Days [preview]

Following his previous release on IM:LTD, Pennygiles has kept himself mad busy over the past year both in and out the studio while pumping iron and shaping up for the ‘World’s Strongest Man’ championship.
In order the put all the odds in our corner, we took Dutch shady trainer Nymfo aboard to come up with a pumped up steroidal version of ‘Stories Untold’ while the B side sees the return of the infamous French nutritionist Redeyes sparring with the Welsh ogre for a carb free dubby liquid track called ‘Wavering Lines’.
In addition, our good doctors Arkaik and Robustus have cooked up the perfect digital complement shakes for our tight panted hero, proving, once again, IM:LTD’s ability to come up with some of the juiciest Drum & Bass music around.

SPEARLTD023 is the debut Spearhead release from New Zealand's Eavesdrop.
David Wood aka Eavesdrop burst onto the New Zealand d&b scene in the early 2000s and had gone from strength to strength since. His debut LP was released by Loop Recordings in 2013 which picked up support from a long list of DJs, including Spearhead boss BCee.
