Paperclip and Dereck have been known for quite some time as musicians and solo producers across a myriad of styles within electronic music. However, they recently began to transmute their style towards a form of darker experimental landscape and as soon as the guys felt this, they decided to unite for a new project to fully build this new edifice, aptly named KONSTRUCTOR.

After bursting onto the scene with their debut EP last Fall, KONSTRUCTOR return with yet another heavy, completely unique EP of madness with, INDUSTRIAL JUNGLISM. 

INDUSTRIAL JUNGLISM - is a multi faceted work of consciousness with a stunning interconnection of techno bass lines and classic samples from the old Jungle era helping to evoke a powerful nostalgia whilst remaining totally modern and upfront. The main focus is the uniqueness of the groove and the interplay of simple but eclectic elements turning out a simultaneously dark and amusing track.

GEFEST - Whilst watching a documentary regarding the study of combat systems on modern aircraft, Konstructor came across a description of a device used by the Russian army called Gefest. This unit allows you to launch unguided projectiles with the accuracy of radio-guided missiles. This discovery peaked their interest in the technology of weaponry, inspiring them to create a track with a mixture of the emotional and the technological, interweaving classic technoid elements and the infectious nature of  ostinatos and relentless groove, which is often lost in modern Drum and Bass releases. This creation was birthed full of military brutality, smashing onto the dancefloor with a gutteral, primordial scream...

RAIDEN WHY- A large part of Konstructor's project is rooted in a technoid past full of amazing memories centred around the experimental beats and glitched out rhythms of Raiden's Offkey Label, which was hugely influencial in the mid 2000s and continues to be to this day. Konstructor remain full of love for the technoid subgenre and this beautiful track is an homage to one of their biggest influences and a salute to the epic saga of the label's legacy.

THERAPY – Representing another huge Darkside DnB influence many like Konstructor gnashed their ravenous teeth upon, this long standing love affair fuelled the duo with the desire to add their own imprint, bringing new branches of development to the genre while still embracing its instinctual soul. An aim that every new broken rhythm from the project may spark new trends of the Darkside drum and bass beloved by everyone. Still heavily embracing that classic, distinctive Therapy Sessions sound, the duo also strives to bring their own twist and ideas to innovate and progress the subgenre which they love so much. Therapy, as a track, is both a celebration of this legacy and a personal manifesto from Konstructor.

Bristol-based 25-year-old Louis Parker otherwise known as - XAETIS (pronounced “Zay-tis”) has been recognized as a man of many talents throughout his career and has risen within the drum and bass community. Specialist in combining the aggressive carnage of old school Neuro, new wave dnb, and dark thundering techy rollers. Synthesizing his own twist of outer-worldly sounds from his past and current inspirations in drum and bass, electronic music, post-rock, prog/metal and psychedelia - these musical backgrounds along with his passion for bass music have quickly made him a noticeable name in the scene.


In 2018, XAETIS moved to Bristol to study Music Production at BIMM. This is where his love for drum and bass catalyzed, quickly immersing himself into production. “I remember going to a Jungle event at Motion for the first time in Bristol, and I just instantly felt like I was home…”.


Fast forward to 2020, XAETIS formed his label EXPEDITE Records with his partner Jon a.k.a. - ON|IT. This label targets the formerly unsung talent of the UK's ever-growing Neuro / New wave heavy DNB scene. With a debut label takeover already taken place in 2022 and their own events to begin their showcase in 2023!

His former influences include an eclectic mix of electronic music including the mezmerizing Boards of Canada, pioneer Aphex Twin, and electronic dance wizard John Hopkins. As well as an extensive post-rock and prog-metal background with bands the likes of This Will Destroy You, Animals as Leaders, Meshuggah, and many more... In modern times XAETIS has now focused his attention on some of the most highly regarded producers and artists in the scene such as Noisia, Current Value, Audio, Mean Teeth, Magnetude, Gydra, etc... Taking all this inspiration XAETIS sets out to create some immense waves onto the scene with an ever-evolving and absurdly heavy sound.

XAETIS' Career is now at the tipping point, with ever-growing production abilities and development of his craft behind the decks. He's landed festival sets at Darkshire in the Woods 2022 after his feature LP 'Leviathan LP' released on Sinful Maze - one of Czech Republic's leading dnb labes pushing a fresh perspective of the genre to the world. He has further landed a set at Neuroheadz Festival supporting Pythius and State of Mind after demonstrating his DJ skills with his guest mix on the Neuroheadz SoundCloud.  Other performances have featured collaborative back 2 back sets with NIALLO in both Expedite and Yamatai takeovers at events in Bristol and London, supporting the likes of Gyrofield, Freshney and the Stellar residents.

2023 has started with a bang for this artist with his next big show at La Bassecour in Paris supporting Fade Black and Skulpt! Furthermore, with some other big shows to come this summer, XAETIS is bringing some of his best mind-bending music with him along the way to make it his most promising year yet!
