Music producer and entrepreneur, Slade, also known as S7AD3, was born and raised in the DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area. He has been an avid fan of Hip Hop & R&B music for as long as he can remember since he was frequently exposed to it as a child by family members. His mother would often play music from some of the legendary artists such as the Notorious B.I.G., LL cool J, Nas, Maxwell, Lauryn Hill, etc., and his father was a big NWA fan. Additionally, his uncle was a DJ and would occasionally let him join him at his gigs and play with his beat-making equipment. Upon realizing the positive effects of music on the population and how it can bring people together, Slade decided he wanted to create a career out of making music and began his journey.

 

Initially, he could not afford any music equipment, so he experimented with beatboxing and making music with whatever materials he could find to persuade his friends to freestyle rap. Finally, when he was 17 years old, he had enough money saved to purchase a laptop and a keyboard and started producing for a year or so. Unfortunately, he felt as though he wasn’t very good at it and gave up. Later on in life, when he was bored at 24, he decided to download an application called “Beat Maker” on his iPad to help pass the time when he was at the airport waiting on a flight. Surprisingly, he ended up making three beats in one day with that app that sounded better than the one beat he had created a few years prior at the age of 17. He even felt as though his beats sounded better than those he was hearing on the radio, so he took this newfound talent seriously and ran with it. He then found a DAW (digital audio workstation) that he felt comfortable with, which was Logic Pro X, and continued to work on and improve his skills, making him the exceptional music producer he is today.

 

However, his talent doesn’t stop there. Slade has managed to create a production company called “Rare High Music Group”, which aims to develop and showcase artists to bring out the best version of themselves using the unique and vibrant beats he produces. Essentially, his main goals are to produce a top 100 billboard record, win a Grammy, and eventually have the opportunity to collaborate with other top-notch producers, artists, and record labels to create a plethora of phenomenal music.
