The Mona Passage consists of Yabey, Bonafide Rojas & Pete Sustarstic. It's a musical outfit, a reinvention of self, a love letter, a protest for independence, an epic poem, a rock & soul, new wave, space folk, electric dream of a band. The foundation of my art is music, songwriting, performing and recording. My inspiration stems from personal experiences and my surroundings.  I use music as a tool to work through challenges and experiences in my own life. This leads me to want to learn more about the process of music, how it affects us as human beings, and how the brain responds to music. I am currently enrolled with the Berklee College of Music with the intention of moving on to earn a degree in Music Therapy.
 
When I discovered music therapists were using music the same way I did, working through different scenarios and helping others, I realized that this could be my path, too.  I spent several inspired years performing throughout New England, acting side by side with Carl Anderson (Jesus Christ Superstar) and Gary Cherone (Van Halen). In 2001 I left Rhode Island for New York City to grow as an artist.
 
Even while modeling, dancing, acting and learning roller derby, music was still a large part of my life. I found jobs singing backup and ghost vocals for other artists and yearned to create my own original music and lyrics. In a twist of fate, in 2004 I was named one of the “Top 100 Most Beautiful Women of 2004” by Playboy, appeared in rocker magazine Revolver, featured on the album cover of punk legends The Dwarves for “The Dwarves must die” and played a supporting role in the horror movie “Shadow Dead Riot” starring Tony Todd.  Music took another back seat during this time, however it would not be long before my passion for sound would resurface and take on a life of its own.
 
In 2005 I felt confident enough to start writing music and did so under the moniker “Dani Danger”. I was writing music, playing to live audiences and very happy performing once again.  I also began working as a sound engineer with UFO Sound Labs in Providence. In early 2009 I headed west to Los Angeles to explore the left coast and found immediate success in a nomination for “Singer/ Songwriter of the Year” by Motif Magazine.  This helped me gain momentum with my work, and I hosted a weekly open mic in Silverlake while assisting Bandit Art Gallery Director / Owner Mike Chamili.
 
I have with a purpose. A musical one! With all of the experiences I have gained on my journey, I feel that Music Therapy must now be a part of my life.  Music is such an important part of my happiness, I am thrilled to embark on a new journey, and one which I can use my talent and passion to help those in need.
