minds&machines have been gaining recognition over the last few years with releases on respected labels such as Astralwerks, Anjunadeep and Diynamic. The duo now make their debut on Icarus’s Fly Boy Records, drawing on influences from garage, lo-fi house, electronica and melodic breakbeat to bring us their 2 track EP: Anybody / Over.  

‘Anybody’ gives us an evolving story from start to finish, with tight breakbeats that sit under emotive piano and synth chords. As it develops we get a delightful yet eery synth line, which seems to dance over the music beneath.  

Although hailing from Germany, ‘Over’ breathes clear UK Garage influences but with a lo-fi twist. Soft, melodic piano lines meld with deep bass and cleverly placed, pitched vocal lines to create a real ‘head nodder’ of a record.
