Just wrapping up an excellent weekend here in Chicago. I got a chance to open up for Badbadnotgood on Friday and the show was incredible. The venue, crew and fellas in the band were super nice and they even hooked me up with a nice stack of records. I haven’t had a chance to unpack my bag yet so this show is going to channel the same vibes I laid down in my opening set and we’ll throw in a few new badbadnotgood joints for good bad type measure.

Hey y’all! We’re back! This one has been a long time coming. I’m extremely excited to present to you the latest Idle Cellars mix, made by Melbourne’s Jazz-Funk-Cosmic-Disco masters Mildlife! A bit of a hail-mary pass, it was a dream to ask these guys to give us a mix for the series and I’m so happy they said yes! Kev McDowell, who sings and plays synths, put the mix together on the heels of re-starting their excellent Very Fantastic Radio podcast (which you should go subscribe to immediately) and he’s handed in a stone-cold-killer of a mix, a 90-minute journey through more genres than you can count. Which is well-Balearic in our book! 

I have been a staunch advocate of this band since hearing their defining single “The Magnificent Moon” back in 2017. Their music has been a revelation to me and, after seeing them something like five times I can safely say they are one of the best live acts in the world at the moment. Do not sleep on them, and if you haven’t heard their albums Phase, Automatic or Chorus, get thee to a record shop, stat!
