I am writing and recording a song every week in 2017. I will be playing the Beatles Marathon on December 30 of 2017. My friends and I will perform every Beatles song in a single 13 hour performance

The record label Kscope was created in May 2008 to provide a home for the growing post-progressive genre and an evolving, flexible and adventurous style of music without boundaries.

In recent years, a growing movement of bands has started to reclaim and reinvent aspects of the progressive, post-punk and post-rock genres, re-establishing a desire to experiment with eclectic musical sources and state of the art widescreen sonic possibilities. Kscope was created to provide a home for this evolving and adventurous style of music without boundaries, and was launched in 2008 with new albums from its first signings The Pineapple Thief and No-Man. New albums have since followed from the legendary likes of Anathema, Steven Wilson, Porcupine Tree/Japan keyboard player Richard Barbieri, highly rated newcomers North Atlantic Oscillation and Lunatic Soul (the solo project from Riverside's Mariusz Duda). In addition to these releases the Kscope catalogue also now contains a series of deluxe reissues of classic albums from Porcupine Tree, The Pineapple Thief, Blackfield and No-Man.

The Receiver is made up of brothers Casey (keyboards, bass, vocals) and Jesse Cooper (drums, vocals). Formed in 2005, the brothers quickly expanded on ideas composed the previous year by Casey for his senior thesis in music composition studies at The Ohio State University. After a few live performances, the band was picked up by New York-based Stunning Models On Display Records. With the label’s support, the band finished the recording of their debut album “Decades” in 2006 and celebrated its release later that year with extensive touring throughout North America. Once home, Casey began the near 2-year writing process for their follow-up album “Length of Arms”. The sophomore effort had its soft (digital-only) release in late 2009 on Vital Music Records. The band just finished recording their yet to be titled third album due June 2015.

And I Will Rise is a new EP by Columbus, OH composer and frontman of The Receiver, Casey J. Cooper.  Since graduating with a Music Composition degree from Ohio State University in 2004, Casey has been an active songwriter, composer, and performer throughout the US.  The music on And I Will Rise presents Casey's range of compositional skill and taste by combining simple melody with dark, padded textures.  Slow, patient, and brooding progressions provide a platform for many pleasant piano and synthesizer motifs.  The music is very orchestral in its nature.  But rather than employing traditional chamber instruments, Casey presents his ideas here with classic analog synth pads and leads in themes that return at various points throughout.  It's all very cinematic for the listener.  Wrapping up in just under 22 minutes, And I Will Rise provides a rewarding amount of light and dark, peak and valley.  Just listen, and follow where it leads.
