KENNETH BAGER - MUSIC FOR DREAMS RADIO SHOW - IBIZA SONICA - 23 AUG 2021

In this the September episode of the Reframe, we welcome friend, musical ally and all round good guy Matt White to the offer an hours insight into his musical mind and all thats generally tweaking his ear. 

Hailing from the capital of Teeside….Middlesbrough, Matt has crafted an hours mix of music from the deeper left of centre shelf to close the last hour of the show.

Matt will be joining us over at Sheaf St on Oct 9th and hopefully on regular basis over the coming months for the ReFrame residency with his trusted record bag spanning genres through Balearic jewels, obscure disco, chuggy downtempo up into more deep electronic territories.

Matt very rarely puts together a mix so this is an opportunity to hear his sound, he doesn't disappoint kicking off with a psyche-folk beauty and seamlessly moving into and through a selection of chugging electronics with a few twists and turns along the way

Kicking proceedings off with a couple of hours of music from the ReFrame this month we start from the traps with a selection of electronic dub offerings from Rickard Javerling, I David and Perry Granville before moving through music from, Sigward & Oliver Sudden, Panoram, London Modular Alliance, Mali-I, River Yarra, ASA MOTO, Good Block, Good Block, Beesmunt Soundsystem, Sun Electric, Payfone, Pender Street Steppers, Jonny Rock, The Pump Girls, Coral D, Sorcerer, Jberr, Superpitcher & Gnork

The Sunrise Mixtapes is delighted to present our second guest-mix. Based in Leeds, UK, Andy Pye is the man behind the Balearic Social Recordings imprint, notable for releasing some mighty fine downtempo music on vinyl from the likes of Bonnie & Klein, Coyote, Tommy Awards and ...err us (Plastic Fantastic)!

Andy hosts the weekly Balearic Social radio show on Music For Dreams, also guesting on the bi-monthly radio show Sounds In Waves on Alto Radio, and the monthly radio show Paradise Social on 1BTN.FM.

Anyway, over to the mix. Sadly we don't have a complete track-list for it as it was recorded some time ago, but we have been able to ID a handfull of the selections on here, including ‘Joy Of Brass’ taken from Phil France’s rather brilliant LP Swimmer, released in 2013. ‘Accadde A Bali’ by Arawak, a rare and hence insanely pricey record, with original Italian pressings of the LP going for well over 1000USD on Discogs! Moving on, there’s some lovely jazz-funk/soft rock goodness, including Ströer's 'Some People' from 1980, and Richard Torrance's west-coast flavoured ‘Desert Lady’ taken from his 1978 LP Double Take, and sexadelic funk courtesy Susana Estrada’s ‘Gózame Ya!’, from her aptly titled 1981 LP Amor Y Libertad.
