I noticed this isn't on soundcloud? so I'm re-upping it. All vinyl, one take, unhinged party. This @mikeservito set was recorded live in May 2010 at No Way Back, the DEMF afterparty thrown by Interdimensional Transmissions at the Bohemian National Home. This is The Bunker's second consecutive podcast from the No Way Back party, released in anticipation of the Brooklyn version of the event on November 5, 2011. This also marks Servito's second podcast for The Bunker, a rare feat. We're pretty sure you'll understand why we picked this set almost immediately upon listening. Proper jacking classic house trax mixed immaculately.

Jeffrey Sfire’s introduction to the underground dance scene and illegal warehouse parties of Detroit
occurred at the tender age of 15. This escape from suburba led him to some of the city’s most talented
DJs and musicians, who soon exposed him to a new culture of creative riches. Learning by example,
Sfire’s taste and skills as a DJ developed naturally and he soon began playing out at parties, clubs and
sleazy gay afterhours, usually entering covertly through back doors or with a fake ID. A move to Chicago
exposed Sfire to a whole other side of dance music history, including "Italo Disco" and genre jumping dj
styles of the Hotmix 5 radio djs. He spent afternoons digging through record store crates, meeting retired
DJs and developing his musical palette. Having held numerous club residencies, he regularly plays at
Panorama Bar and Cocktail D’amore in Berlin, The Carry Nation and Wrecked in New York, Hard French
in San Francisco, and his own party Loosen Up! In Detroit, consistently offering a finely-tuned selection of
Acid House, Italo Disco, Latin Freestyle, & 90’s NYC House. In 2013 Jeffrey and SOPHIE released the
first untitled “Sfire” record on Cocktail d'Amore Music out of Berlin which has become a cult classic. Since
then the duo has released 3 more untitled “Sfire” records. He is currently living in Detroit and is one half of
the Italo/Electro duo Looky Looky with Ian Clark released on Dark Entries records of San Francisco

On their favorite track: The track I would like to highlight is the Serge G. 'Work It Out (DJ Holographic Remix)'. Alinka & I released it a few months ago on Twirl and it's a total family affair and a banger! I met Serge quite a few years ago when he was still residing in Stockholm, via an old friend from NYC. He's contributed remixes on Twirl before. He's also featured me in a short film he created "A Child Of House: Shaun J. Wright", that includes some of my closest friends in the world; the eternal Aerea Negrot, Alinka, Jacob Meehan, Madison More and Sir Jacobs. DJ Holographic is one of my dearest friends and having her join the Twirl musical family feels so appropriate. It's always a blessing to collaborate with people you love and admire.

For years now, an old recording of Jeffrey Sfire at Cocktail D'Amore's one and only cosmic hole was one of the highest references for us in terms of downtempo Italo sleaze - an almost 6 hours recording serving more like a PhD aural dissertation specialized in some of the most remarkable dancefloor digs (mainly Europe) had to offer in the 80s at under 115BPM. To be able to share it publicly on the HAND Mix Series as we reach number 50 is a huge honor and we're greatly thankful to Giacomo and Giovanni, the two cuties behind Discodromo that made this possible. We hope you can appreciate it as much as we have over these past years. Good news! Pacific Spirit is back after a small hiatus with our first mix of 2024. This time around it's a 3 hour live recording from one of Pittsburgh's finest, Aaron Clark. Here's a bit of back story on the recording:

In October 2022, Hot Mass threw a fundraiser for the Kyiv Angels – a group doing work to support Ukrainian civilians. We tapped Kyiv’s Closer resident Shakolin, and I took the warm-up set of the night. This is the recording of my part of the night. I dusted off a lot of old favourite records and leaned into a slow build that I try to set the club up with, tugging the floor between psychedelic rhythms, trippy techno and pops of house. This recording landed in that bullseye opening zone I aim for, and I hope it transports you to my favourite little dance floor in the world."
