Since 1985 Ric Sanders has been the fiddle player in Fairport Convention. In the late 70s he played in both Soft Machine and The Albion Band, and it was in the latter that he met Michael Gregory, now drummer with The Home Service. Ric’s association with guitarist and vocalist Vo Fletcher goes back even further – they played together when still teenagers. Vo has played with artists as diverse as Rik Mayall and Nigel Kennedy (just to keep Ric on his toes!).

It was inevitable that these three pals would play together, and over the last decade they’ve been involved in many projects, from recording Miles Davis classics live in Lincoln Cathedral to improvising an album with the inspirational Anjali Dance Company. Over the last couple of years though, they’ve taken a different direction, reconnecting with the music closest to their hearts. It’s music firmly rooted in the blues.

They love playing it, and their recent performances have shown just how much people love hearing it – a rockin’ good time was had by all!

Findlay Napier is one of the most highly-regarded performers and creative forces on the Scottish music scene – thoroughly active and truly energised with a heart-warming zing.

He made his name touring and recording with multi- award winning traditional Scottish folk band Back of
the Moon. In his more recent projects “Queen Anne’s Revenge” and “The Bar Room Mountaineers” his song- writing took centre stage and was described by The Sunday Herald as “Genuine songcraft and wit following in the Difford & Tilbrook tradition”. Findlay is also well known for hosting Glasgow’s premier open mic night at Bar Bloc, as the host of Celtic Connections’ Late Night Sessions and for his Hazy Recollections concert series which showcases the very best in new roots music.

Chris Sherburn and Findlay Napier

A new “unholy alliance”!!

Chris Sherburn is one of the best anglo-concertina players in the UK.  He is renowned for his great playing and mighty craic!  He is also well known for his longstanding musical partnership with Denny Bartley.  They toured worldwide and released numerous albums.  They formed band extraordinaire “Last Night’s Fun”, and it was here Findlay and Chris met.  In recent years Chris has also toured extensively with Bella Hardy.

Findlay Napier is a Scottish singer, guitarist and songwriter based in Glasgow. 
 After attaining his BA in Scottish Traditional Song Findlay formed a traditional folk band called Back of the Moon which performed all over the world and released three albums.  They were awarded ‘Best Up and Coming Act’ at the Trad Music Awards in 2003 and ‘Folk Band of the Year’ in 2005.
When the Back of the Moon disbanded in late 2006 Findlay performed with Last Night’s Fun for a year playing up and down the length of the UK.  At the same time he formed. Findlay Napier and The Bar room Mountaineers
