4Peace - The Bunker - 05.13.2015

Last summer, Ultra Knites Records kicked off a series of "Knite Grooves" EP's. UKR006 sees label owners Sem Marini and Mike Sharon make a reappearance for summer 2015, this time under their "Ultra Knites" pseudonym for the third installment of the Knite Grooves series. As has come to be expected from the pair- two tracks on the A side which ooze class and deepness, laced with melodic keyboard solos - elements that were once a staple in the Deep House genre but have since become scarce during recent years. Flipping over to the B side, the pair welcome fresh talent from across the water in the form of a collaboration between US producer Trevor Vichas and Netherlands based Tommy Largo. There's two mixes here of "Gonna Hold On" both of which capture the essence of real Underground House music and maintain the ethos of Ultra Knites Records.

KiNK presents "Home"

This aptly titled EP is the debut release on the newborn label Sofia.  Founded by Strahil Velchev and Konstantin Petrov, Sofia is not only the physical location where this music was made, the city where they met and developed as artists, but also a paradox that is reflected in the art and music that comes from the place. Beautiful and ugly at the same time, clean and dirty, brutal as well as romantic, it’s a place where aesthetically seemingly incompatible styles come together in a twisted, yet unifying form. The photographs for the sleeves are made by influential local selector DJ Valentine, effortlessly capturing the local reality.

Those pieces of a paradox also are reflected in the music. The typical fine-grit of KiNK’s production skills meets his love for the elements of surprise and the classic building blocks and plaster of house and techno to create something that is very much his own, while breathing the spirit of early days and pioneering times. Hinged just before and after peak time, the tracks on this EP are cohesive, made to last and rounded off by the contemplativeness of yet another collaboration with Rachel Row called „The Beauty“. The first of many to come.
And as always: Remember the future!

"Lubomir Skumov better known as Thermo is a DJ and producer from the town of Pomorie, Bulgaria. He grows up with the music of bands like Depeche Mode, Chemical Brothers, Orbital and a lots of grunge.

Over the years, listening to all styles, in 1998 went to a party at a nearby club where he first heard what is techno music. From that day he decided to engage in electronic music and began to compose his first tracks. A few years later he released his first vinyl on Ignition Technician's label Notorious North. This is a good start to his career and not long after he released for some of the most respected techno labels: Yin Yang, Patterns, Sub Cult, Toyfriend Music, Basics and more.Over the years, Thermo's tracks were supported by many techno titans: Ben Sims, Paul Mac, Cristian Varela. He solidified his reputation as one of the most progressive techno producers in the Balkans.

After releasing several house and tech-house EP's for PHNTM's label Neptuun City, in 2012 he was invited by Dj Dan to remix one of his tracks - Just A Fool. Remix gets strong support from house legends like DJ Sneak and DJ Mes. In the same year he published releases for Coyote Cuts, Jack Locker, Gourmand Music, Plant 74 and Fogbank, that been supported by heroes such as Johnny Fiasco, Mark Farina, J Paul Getto, DJ Dan, Tommy Largo. Soon Thermo returns with another dose jackin beats, watch the space!"
