While Robosonic's extraordinary OFF debut  „Worst Love“ was paying homage to a specific underground rap record by the Dilated Peoples (actually without sampling the record itself), the follow-up now takes it way over the edge: consciously, of sound mind.   Since their early vinyl bootlegs (2005) under various aliases and their critically acclaimed first album as Robosonic (2007), Cord and Sacha incorporate a certain sense of irony into their undisputed world class production work. For their next episode on OFF, the boys cut slices of hiphop sample history and flipped them into seriously soulful house music joints.   Functional arrangements with plenty of musical references to golden eras and past times create the emotional depth of Robosonic’s modern „hi-tech soul“.
„OVER“ with its intimate feel seems less obvious than the famous hookline of „THE EDGE“. In fact Dr. Dre was not the first beatmaker to cook it up, so Robosonic probably aren‘t the last either. They just do what they like doing best. Funnily enough our praised creators anticipate critics and let Talib do the talking:  „These cats ain‘t real.“

We had the pleasure to get our hands on the soulful house jam "Sunday Shoutin'", released on 4th Floor / Defected in the year 2000 by JOHNNY CORPORATE, the New-Jersey born and bred, NYC and DC based DJ & producer duo consisting of Doug Smith & Richard Payton. 
The original, remixed by the likes of Eric Morillo and Harry "Choo Choo" Romero, sold over 30,000 copies back in the day and even made it into the UK pop charts. We love this track and have been playing our own vinyl copy so much that it's all scratched and warped now. :) Very excited to share our rework with you! 
Release as an exclusive on Defected In The House on the 11th of February. X

Konstantinos Sakkas, better known as soundcloud.com/saccaodj is an up and coming dj/producer from Athens, Greece. At the very young age of 14 he already stepped into the scene, playing at various bars in the city. At the age of 18 Saccao decides to get  more involved with music production. Next to studying economy he was making music after classes and in the weekends he performed at numerous clubs in Athens. Where Hadrian worked as a co producer for Clara Moto’s album on Infine Rec. and on other tracks for Skint Recordings, Jochen was doing parties in Graz with his friends. The party named "Schwarzes Herz" had artists like Solomun, Dixon, Ame, Hell, Peter Kruder, Argy and more. YOO we made a remix for Kerri Chandler, one of the most influential and prolific artists of soulful and deep dance music. We tried to keep the spirit of the original track from 1996, while using instruments from back in the day (Roland JX-1, drum computers) and adding our own touch. The remix is coming out on King Street Sounds on 20th May, the infamous house label from NYC we bought records from when we were 16. Hallelujah!

"Kerri 'Kaoz' Chandler one of deep house music's originators, has been injecting soul into music since the early nineties. An ambassador of the natural and instinctive 4/4 beat, Kerri's influences can be traced back to New Jersey growing up in a family of jazz musicians. His father being a respected deejay, provided Kerri with a rich background in the origins of soul, disco and the New York Underground Sound (known also as "Garage" music). Accompanying his father to the gigs, Kerri began playing records at the Rally Record Club in East Orange, New Jersey at the tender age of thirteen. Exposed to such musical creativity, it wasn't long before Kerri found himself interested in production. 

Since the signing of his first single "SuperLover/Get It Off" by Atlantic in 1991, Kerri began producing a prolific body of work that has helped coin him one of the most respected house producers in the world. This has been achieved by remaining true to his style. His now legendary bass-lines go from heavy and heady to playful and quirky while remaining deliriously intoxicating. His fusions, clamped to the beat of his unique thundering kick drum, redefine house music at every turn.
