A holobiont is defined as the host plus of all its microbial symbionts, including transient and stable members. All individuals who participate in a particular symbiosis are bionts and the entire organism that is comprised of these bionts is a holobiont. Meaning that essentially everything is a holobiont, because every macro-species lives in symbiosis with some other species. You're a holobiont.

Bursting onto the scene with an appetite for the psychedelic, Alien Speak is the stellar first release from Sylph, the musical alias of Emily Thaler. Based out of New York City, she has spent the last several years quietly expanding upon her production, composition, and engineering knowledge. The producer’s patience has paid off with a musical bounty worth it's weight in sub bass. Drawing from the font of psybient influence, each of the four tracks is a boisterous dance of pulsating frequencies. Glitchy harmonies and high-processed synthesis turn each moment into a downtempo tango between the visceral and the effervescent. With an obvious inclination towards arrangement and general musicality, the EP is a testament to an intrepid work ethic. An 18 track sonic saga compiled of works from various artists ranging from veteran IDM producers such as Boxcutter, The Flashbulb and Mr. Bill to fresh up-and-coming talents like Blanketdragon, Jonah Hodges, Cloud Cluster (and many more).

The goal of this compilation is to revive the “fallen angel” that is IDM, a genre that inspired so many of us artists to get into the electronic music production game in the first place!

Vol.0 shall take you on a auditory journey through various styles of glitch music ranging from vibey detuned synthwork threaded through glitched out percussive elements to dark, heavy bass design that’ll peel your dick straight off & leave you feeling confused & most likely sexually aroused.

When we picked it up again in our studios we went on a strange tangent that initially didn’t seem to make sense. But slowly it unfolded into a song that wanted to be about letting go, about new horizons and great memories. And hints of jazzy disco, which of course as you know is a staple of the Noisia and Upbeats sound since time immemorial, umm right, please listen to our weird song.”
