She was raised in an environment characterized by a diverse blend of country, folk, and alternative rock music. Growing up under the care of a single mother who held two jobs to provide for their household, Skylar found comfort and refuge in music from a young age. At the age of twelve, she independently learned to play the guitar and commenced writing her own songs in the privacy of her bedroom, utilizing music as a means to cope with the challenges associated with financial hardships.
