These Last Few Days by Siegfried Jünger

Inspired by a trip to Reynisfjara  on an uncharacteristically calm day where the wind died away and the sun showed itself, the band returned to their Reykjavík studio and wrote "Black Sand".

The driving start gives way to a calmer feel reflecting the weather that day and Mike's Rhodes keyboard adds a mellow feel to the piece, Jussi's guitar replicates this later in the song.

Black Sand by Laxá

The genre that blends classical music with modern electronic elements is often referred to as "electronic classical" or "classical-electronic fusion." This genre combines traditional classical instrumentation and compositional techniques with contemporary electronic production, synthesizers, and sound design. It aims to create a fusion of the classical aesthetic with the innovative possibilities offered by electronic music, resulting in a unique and hybrid musical experience.

It was late one night during the band's last tour of Sweden when they were at the rehearsal studio in Stockholm finishing up and running through their instrumental "Hungry Ghosts".

The next band into the studio, The Bawl Slant, arrived early and their vocalist Kristopher heard the track and offered to write some lyrics and lay down some vocals.

This track is a result of that collaboration.

I can't take it anymore.

The world looks at you with contempt.
They are glad to find you mad.
Not even your mother wept.

The fear is blinding.

with this painful stabbin', 
a splinter in my mind's eye.

Locked up and forgotten,
we leave you there.
Tie up your body, cut off your hair.
You're running out of time.
You can still make your poem rhyme.

Splinter In The Mind's Eye

Mourning and  loss is part of life and so it was with the song "Jiva Vanishes". When someone or something that is part of your life is no longer present, there's a space left, a space that may be filled with distant echoes of that presence but a presence that become tangible in its absence. This is Laxá at their most mournful. The guitars cry and the bass thunders into the void as "Jiva Vanishes".
