Listening to the music of Cork based electronic songwriter Trick Mist (Gavin Murray) is almost a meditative experience. His arsenal of original samples combined with gestures towards traditional music and storytelling lyrics, creates a captivating immersive soundscape for the listener.

Self produced in Ireland, on the road in India and South-East Asia, 'Both Ends’ (released Nov 2018 via Pizza Pizza Records) is a compelling, cohesive and original body of work. Sonically the album draws heavily from a unique library of sounds captured by Murray while travelling. Emotionally intense and deeply thoughtful, the album is a product both of Murray's internal monologue and his external environment created over 2 years.

BAKING CAKES BY PROXY is a spoken word/electronica project by Sam Slattery and Ally Mitchell. They started back in 2010 in East Kent, amidst a backdrop of chicken women and half-nut princes, countless fag breaks, lunchtime soups and main meals. Sam writes words, Ally makes music, and they are both part-time idiots. Five years after recording their first album, they thought it was probably good enough to warrant doing some more. 
'Keeping The Bottom Regular' started life back in April 2015 as a conversation, a way of reconnecting. Through the use of far superior recording equipment, new electronic toys and the miracle of file-sharing via the internet, it blossomed into the collection of nuggets you see before you. More structured, considered and heavily edited than their first album, it is sonically more refined but undoubtedly more juvenile. 
Baking Cakes By Proxy continue to keep it regular, and are already writing for their third album, which they plan to perform. Watch out,  mun.

Motorway Flowers, those mirthful foulers.

Alastair and Joshua improvise songs and gibberish from a comfortable foundation of a friendship which has outlasted the education system and various relocations.

Some of the music is planned carefully. All of the singing is not. The simple joy of playing allows the duo to explore melodic and lyrical themes, as well as sound textures, electronic drums and silly combinations of effects.

Remember, flowers are beside a motorway for one of two reasons.
